Official Official Serie A thread 21/22

Penalty for Sassuolo against Inter, clearest penalty ever - he’s made Skriniar look stupid there.

Inter are a bombscare at the back, Defrel take it round Handovic after a poor back pass but he goes to ground and the ref has a huge decision.

Tried to back Berardi and Martinez both to score at 7/1 but didn't go through in time.

Gutted.

There’s an air of inevitability when Juventus start stringing wins together….but it’s fantastic to see Milan, Inter and Napoli all looking like they could be contenders

International break is thankfully over and whilst our attentions are of course on Ibrox tomorrow, it is Round 8 in Serie A.

Three games take place tomorrow with the pick clearly being Lazio hosting Inter at the Olimpico in the 5pm kick-off. The home side were gubbed 0-3 at Bologna last time out but you have to go back to February of this year for Lazio's last home defeat as Bayern came, saw and conquered in their CL tie. Their last domestic defeat? Well, you need to go back to Round 11 last season when Verona took the 2-1 win. Champions Inter ground out a 2-1 win at the ever stuffy Sassualo and a win here would be a huge boost in what has been a "bitty" title-defence thus far.

A bit of an early season relegation tussle is the early serving on Saturday as Spezia welcome newly-promoted Salernitana. Tough start for both sides this season, granted they both have faced at least two of last seasons top six each so far. This one kicks off at 2pm.

The late kick off at the San Siro has Milan playing Verona. I rossoneri currently sit second in the table, two points off Napoli and come here having defeated Atalanta 3-2 before the break. A win here of course, would put them into top-spot before Napoli take to the field on Sunday. Verona come here sitting in the bottom half but with only the one loss in their last five with a comfortable 4-0 against Spezia last time. One thing for sure is that there's always goal when Verona are involved.

Saturday;

Spezia v Salernitana 2pm
Lazio v Inter 5pm
Milan v Verona 7.45pm

I'll try get Sunday later on.
