This was a canter for Rangers.
Thornton scored in the 5th and 8th minute.
The first came from an inswinging cross from the left foot of Waddell, to the head of Thornton who placed the ball with ease beyond the keeper.
The second from a cross from Right Half Charlie Watkins, and once again Thornton in almost the exact same position, headed into the net with calm deliberate precision.
Thereafter, for the remaining eighty odd minutes, Rangers showboated, with back heels and flicks, with no need to add to the score.
Thornton did have to leave the field for 15 mins in the second half, due to a facial injury, but returned to play on the Right wing, with Waddell going to Centre Forward.
