Other than some personnel, what has changed from last season?

It’s another year of losing for us and another year of winning for our rivals. It becomes a habit for each, the more they do it.

The board have wrecked this pre-season though, so I feel a bit bad on the manager, who’ll no doubt carry the can if we don’t hit the ground running.

Look at our 55 team. Most of our best signings cost nothing or came for buttons. You can find quality starters on the cheap if you look hard enough.

It took sg three years to win us the league, which is what he asked for and he also inherited a shambles to be fair.

Is clement going to get three years? He is buying young players so maybe we are playing the long game, but, this season......who knows.

I hope the players prove me wrong.

There is no remote possibility of him getting 3 years without success.

None

So we can look forward to humping every team bar one in the league next season?

Imagine us worrying
Over the course of a 38 game season, yes pretty much. If we played the same game 38 times, we'd probably win a handful, draw another but in answer to your point, we will especially if your definition of a 'humping' extends to 2-0 manage it more often than not. Much like Liverpool or Arsenal will probably finish first, second or third but drop points to the occasional Burnley type team.

Great.
Just beat Celtic who are shite and the league is ours

I’m always optimistic about a new season beginning and still live in hope we can get a few out and some decent players in.

To me it seems PC is trying either to send a message to the board or has giving up hope due to the turgid playing style we still see.

Is he still sticking with this formation to get a reaction from the fans towards the board or has PC dropped tools himself?

We need a better quality of player in several positions if he’s to stick with this formation or he needs to change his mindset if we can only bring a couple in.

I know the window has a bit to go but as fans we’re honestly not seeing much of a positive change nor progress.

PC can only play the hand he is dealt. Maybe he will get lucky with discards but they will have to play into his system and that will take time which our fans won’t allow.

I’m concerned.

I’m not saying it’s 100% founded but I have the tendency to err on the side of positivity. I saw positives in Murty ffs

I’m concerned that he and the board aren’t aligned.

Whilst he did a good job getting us there, he couldn’t get us a decent haul of points against the serious dross in the league. When it mattered.

He put a lot on our injury problems. Which we would all agree with. He might know the root cause. And I hope he does. But he might be using it as a good excuse to kick the can down the road.

A question I have.

If the board has misled him as he said happened. I would imagine he would be very annoyed. Possibly looking got the next job.

If he has the ear of some squad changing signings, would he be going after them 100% if he thinks his time here is somewhat limited? Or seeing what happens? It’s a stretch I know. But a thought that has come to my head
The injury problem are part of the recruitment process we bought a team for Gerrard with good players who needed managed in game in the most part.

The lack of effective recruitment that could replace those players which is what was needed even in small stages.

The midfield needed upgraded we needed a replacement for helander / jack/roofe all players that needed rotated

When we won 55 we still relying on Davis and mcgregor although they were immense and fit it was crazy situation to be relying on 40 year olds

Gio the same the players signed just were not good enough while squad was reduced by about 10 it put more pressure on those players and injuries and time catch up.

Ridvan was a stick to beat gio with he is actually good player who we like now but was he worth the money.

He started poorly but had a squad that wasn't improved a team with players that still exhausted after seville with no gteed starters

We had board or Wilson that pretty much lied to go around recruitment he was deflated within a day of qualfying for cl.

ironically if he hasn't beat psv and went into el we prob have good run in that and it papers over the cracks again.

Beale came in claimed fitness Was an issue it wasn't really his masterpiece was broken from the start of season and his players in general just not good enough physically or fitness wise.

clement got us playing well again though I think made to many tweaks to formation after winter blamed fitness

Now he's not recruiting as expected or told so bullshittrd no Wilson this time.

Our fitness is in general reasonably good if the players can be managed and rotated we are stripping the squad back and down sizing it's the real reason we hired Beale in first place.

But with a squad of players that the backups generally army good enough we can't rotate enough.

Everything falls back on recruitment and squad size

Having wandered round Scotland watching us come back through the leagues I thought Gerrard had returned the club to the place I believe we should always be. Today it feels like we are back to the pre Gerrard era where we are mere participants like the rest of the SPFL aside from the scum who simply stroll to a title. The quality of the side is really poor and is actually worse than last season which seems almost impossible but it is.
Absolutely fed up. Losing Gerrard was one of the worst things that have happened to Rangers ever.

So far not much but we wanted the squad rebuilt so maybe it's a little early to judge. Will have a better idea of how it's looking come September, October.
