Photo of Offside Goal

Not defending the linesman in the slightest but under the current offside laws the player is only offside when he touches the ball.
Today the linesman had so many mentally challengeds in a offside position ( but were not offside because they never touched the ball so he couldnt have flagged them) he could not see the mentally challenged who scored.
Under the old laws what would have happened was as soon as the freekick was taken the flag would have went up

This is honestly the worst explanation I've read to excuse anything. Too many player offside to call offside, whit??

Didn’t get a clear view from where I was sitting, so Didn’t realise the goal was offside until after the game - but that’s a scandalous decision; it couldn’t be much more blatant

It's clearly offside.
Never mind the stills (which show the offside).
Look at the video clips (which show the offside).

Did the linesman assume that somehow Helander had acquired the art of the ninja and was exactly hidden behind the first CFC player in sight?

All the linesman could see was an unbroken wall of green and white shirts and socks.
Not a bit of blue or black amongst them.

Perhaps Helander had removed his strip and was trying to merge into the Celtc pack?
Maybe Helander has somehow developed a method of changing the colour of his strip like some sort of on-field footballing chameleon ?

Or ... maybe the linesman could only see green and white closest to the goalmouth, with no blue nor black, and decided that his house insurance premiums were high enough already.

Offside.
