Raffle in aid of the Scottish War Blinded
I’ve been greatly impressed by the Facebook output of the Scottish War Blinded charity.
Out of all our senses I think many of us would most fear losing our sight. So much so, most of us don’t even want to think about it.
So - all monies raised from the raffle of a large framed Evening Citizen poster will be gifted to the charity.
The draw will be made on the 1st of October. Entries to be in by noon that day.

Couple bought and bump for a great cause.

P.S. I remember winning a book for techie drawing at the school prizegiving and I chose "Growing with glory." If memory serves, like the poster, it was also a celebration of the centenary.

When did we realise it was 1872? I'm sure my book like the poster was 1873.

My auld Faither entered a competition which the paper was running in 1973 for a pair of signed shin pads, from either John Greig or Billy McNeil.
He won, and I was a proud owner of the Great legend John Greig signed shin pads.
I just wish I had the foresight to have kept them to this day.

Boys gate competition in evening citizen first prize was a Rangers or Celtic captains track suit with 20 runners up prizes of John greig or billy MacNeil shin guards.
I won the shin guards

That will be the same competition. :)

FF user Ian Mackenzie got in touch after reading this thread to tell me in his collection of old photos he discovered one of his bedroom wall from when he would have been around 12 or 13.

The memories!

Congratulations to the winner - STUART MACFARLANE, EAST KILBRIDE.

He won with numbers 351-355.

In total we sold 495 tickets - I will ignore the Paypal fees and add another £5 (big shot!) to bring the total to be donated to Scottish War Blinded to £500.

Many thanks to all who contributed for their generosity.

Thanks Mark,
I’d like to offer it back in the pot for anyone bidder who would like it, with the money going to the charity.
