The Juniors - 22nd February 2020

With the fixture card decimated, I headed to Springburn to take in Petershill v Blantyre Vics. Peasy diehards must be pulling their hair out on a regular basis as the home side have an unerring habit of shooting themselves in the foot. Roddy Paterson, despite eventually notching a brace, passed up a glorious chance to put his team 3-2 in front before promotion chasing Vics scored two quickfire goals (including a comical case of a punted ball bouncing over the keeper) to give the scoreline a rather flattering look. The hosts didn’t deserve to lose by two and Paterson atoned for his earlier miss by curling home a nice effort to more accurately reflect the play. Vics were definitely the better side but Peasy fans will bemoan the fact that their favourites can’t seem to turn promising displays into victories.

A decent crowd of around 200 were in attendance.

Hopefully, pitches across the country get some respite and the cup quarters/league action get the go ahead next weekend.
