We as supporters need to up our game, particularly RSCs

I am not a loyalist and have never attended an Orange Walk in my life but this is exactly the road we are on. The modern world driven by Social Media has created a society whereby large sections of people are unable to accept or can't deal with people who hold different views to them. I have lost count recently how many times I have seen posters on here saying things like ''I can't believe I support the same club as them''. We have hundreds of thousands of supporters in Scotland, the sheer weight of numbers alone tells you that there are going to be a portion of arseholes in there and certainly people who hold different views and opinions to you. Every other club in the world is the same though, it only seems to be our club right enough who has these PR Disasters and constant infighting.
Why is it only our club who seem to have PR disasters?

My memory might be playing tricks on me but I vaguely remember us having a cup final v the DABs on the weekend Sands succumbed to his suicide quest,I never thought Rangers fans would still be celebrating and keeping his name alive 40 years later.

Simply not true.

It doesn’t help when you have people in our support that constantly look down on others and even go as far as having an opinion on what alcohol they drink.

Every single person agrees the Kyogo stuff was out of order but it’s only our own self proclaimed ‘Real Rangers fans’ that have a very strong opinion on our song book on Sunday.

Not once have I heard anyone from another team moan about our song book on Sunday or even has it made a paper.

Less than six months ago Glen Kamara was dehumanised by a racist piece of shit. For the next few months he and the rest of our black players were subjected to social media pile ons, some of which were led by Scottish MSPs. Every single one of us were appalled at what they were forced to endure. And yet sadly some fans of the team they played for indulged in the same type of repulsive behaviour at the weekend.

Sunday's actions, IMO, were no different to what our black players have suffered and continue to suffer. Kyogo Furahashi was dehumanised on the basis of his appearence and his nationality. Anyone defending that crap by blaming the drink, it was just a laugh, it's not racist, the boys didn't know needs to stop and have a think about what they're saying.
There's not been many times I have disagreed with you Dunc . But this is one time.

There is a world of difference between a professional footballer during a game, hand clenched so the cameras can't witness what was said calling a fellow professional a monkey and a couple of boozed up young dafties on a bus.

To make it worse, the whole Czechk nation seem to have circled the wagons and rallied round the incident at the time.

We do it in reverse.

The bottom line is, if the filth had done this, there would be nothing said.

If you could get 40 Motherwell supporters on a bus, if such a bus with 40 Motherwell supporters existed, behaving as our lot did, there would be nothing said.

But we tie ourselsves in knots trying to show everyone who hates us anyway, that we're good people really.

Do I think what happened was right? Of course I don't.
Do I think, we could do with a wee bit more self policing? Yes I do.

Do I want the youngsters/dafties hung, drawn and quartered?

Only when it is a fair game.

Everything that we see in play was all sadly predicted when we gave up the greatest anthem in football without a whimper and I get that many couldnt be trusted with a change of words to cut out the offensive part and are probably the same ffolk who sadly wont stop the add ons in a public environment but the hand wringers in the support have a lot to answer for in shamefully capitulating and running for the hankies every time the filth sneeze
They told us just give up TBB and they will let us be but since our club and support have been attacked for
The Bouncy
The Hokey Cokey
Penny Arcade
Armed Forces day
Remeberance day displays
And many more but they are examples of no matter what we do we will be attacked for it and not because it's offensive but because we are Rangers
This concerted attack has taken very sinister undertones in the past 20 years since a certain war criminal started calling us holy willies and his work has now been taken up by the new darlings of the diocese in yellow rosettes
Blaming loyalist and unionists is doing their job for them
Crazy mate. They won't even let us mock the squinty eyes of the Japanese Celtic player anymore

The ironic thing is you are doing exactely what you are accusing the Czechs of

Yes and that final was dubbed the Bobby sands final because we sang about him dying through the whole match.on the bus down our bus spent the journey coming up with different songs about his much welcomed demise.

You can't change the history and culture of our club and our ties to Ulster. If the songbook makes you sick, don't let the door hit your arse on the way out.
Rangers FC was formed with not a trace of any of that near it. The culture you talk about stuck itself to the club like a cancer. I will walk in and out the door with my head high. I suggest rather than worry about season tickets and my gers accounts you get yourself subscribed to the history channel.

A culture the club welcomed with open arms in the early 20th century.

Ffs sake really shite patter mate.

Would it not be better to sing songs about Rangers rather than ulster? Do you see Liverpool and Manchester United get into bother about sing their fans sing or can they just create a brilliant atmosphere singing songs about their actually team.
Did Liverpool not get pulled up last week and have to release a statement due to their fans songs?

I’ve seen a tiny % of their fans sing about the Munich air disaster. Likewise, I’ve seen videos of Utd fans singing about Hillsborough.

And was it not Utd fans who were scrapping in the street with Leeds the other week?

I was reading today about the French football, as well. Their fans are even worse.

If we didn’t have “issues” with our song book, we’d have “issues” with something else.

That’s just life. No club in the world with a half decent following won’t have similar “issues”.

For clarity, I condone no wrong behaviour.

It was of the time,I remember pre match in a pub called the Tinto Firs no longer there,The place was bouncing and Sands was getting it tight but that was 40 years ago.

Germany welcomed national socialism in 1933 so does that mean a culture of intolerance is not cancerous?

A cancer away tf you.

I just feel no relevance anymore at Rangers games to stuff like men behind the wire. Most of those singing it won't even have been born during the troubles. Horrible acts of murder carried out by both sides. What it has to do with Rangers in 2021 is beyond me. Same goes with the obsession with Jobby Sands.

If you class as fighting for your religion and culture and Covenant as murder then glad I have pride in my self and club to know its not putting a bullet through a Catholics head

You're a fcking moron.

We aren’t we are the only support under the microscope.

However not only do we need to get our house in order we need to start playing the game.

Lets not just ignore or laugh comments, graffiti, what ever it is off, get it reported get it on Social Media tag all MPs, MSPs, Councillors in.

The Politicians, MSM like to portray this as a one way street, let’s play their game inundate the authorities with examples of what we are subjected to.

I agree our founding fathers formed our club with the sole interest of playing football. That other lot were founded on bigotry and theft.

The same people that were saying how 55 was going to break them then totally shitting it and siding with them as soon as that happened are embarrassing.

Like many older Bears I was around in the 70s and we all sang the full repertoire of songs without giving it a second thought, however times have changed back then there were players in our team who would have enjoyed hearing them,I doubt any of our current team would be motivated by them and some would be downright offended if they understood some if the add ons.
This is not bed wetting or handwringing. These songs damage our Club and quite frankly deserve to be left in the past.
Exactly my experiences as a fan in the 70's. We all sang those songs, but now we can see the damage those same songs do to our beloved club now and realise it is time to ditch them 100%. We need to accept that the world has changed. There can be no return to the 1970's we have to adapt to the current world but still get fully behind our team with the great Rangers songs from our illustrious history.
