We need a friend in the media

We need people of our persuasion to get back into positions of power and influence.

We are the majority. They are the minority.
 
Serious question, do we have a friend at Rangers who will speak out re the demonisation of the Rangers support ( ££££ patrons ££££ )?

The question I’m asking is in no way intended to be a display of ingratitude to the Parks, Letham et al.

Sadly I reckon their careers would soon be destroyed by these bastards that have full control of the narrative in Scotland. The fact that despite the avalanche of evidence of sectarian chanting and abuse not to mention the tons of video clips of IRA celebrations. Not a single Rhat that I have seen online have even as much as acknowledged it.

Why the fućk would a journalist commit career suicide to offer balance re the demonstration of Rangers supporters, when Rangers won’t.

Murdo Fraser can’t and won’t go far enough. None of them will. The mere mention of religion and they all step back as they don’t want branded as racists.

We need a new political party. One that won’t shirk questions about separate schooling, independence, Loyalists, the orange order, football chants and songs, the IRA and it’s Scottish academic approval , historical child abuse. One that can have a grown up discussion about Scottish history and it’s future.

No one will take that on at present. No one.

This has been talked about for years but it’s basically passing the buck, “let someone else do it for me”. I’m sure you didn’t mean the thread to come across like that.

We need our own version of the Rangers Tax Case blog. A dedicated team of professionals, academics, experts, journalists and businessmen who need never be uncovered but work together to expose everything the 'other side' are up to.

Problem is, we can't even get a cohesive board for C1872 never mind this.

I don't think that's too bad a shout. Not saying something along the lines of a print version of GB news but something from the same stable or using a simliar template.

If the right people approached them with a proposal and the return on invesment stacked up why not?

Advertisng revenues would be in the region of £0.75M to 1.5 million a year in Scotland with a reasonable circulation - anything around a 100k before you would look at the potential political influence value.

I honestly believe the monoplisation of the media by the current political positions has created the perfect opportunity for this to happen.

For those saying print is dead are missing the point, newspaper stands and their headlines are literally unavoidable. It's not what it was but it sure ain't dead.

any ,ahem, journalist taking our side and producing evidence of any,which they are plentiful of celtic fans,players and staff making derogatory remarks against Rangers, our fans or any other race or religion will be looking for a new job pronto. Separate entity is the obvious example.Not one so called scotshit journalist will even mention it. this is us against the whole scummy rest of scotland.

So a concerted effort from everyone to fully engage in the media, politics and judiciary etc over the next 20 years would be pointless?

All it takes is hard work and a bit of determination.

We’ve all been too busy blowing flutes, banging drums and telling each other ‘WATP’ for decades, but it can be changed if people work for it.

Are we willing to put in the work though?
 
We also need the club to attack and call out blatant bias/hypocrisy and make the people behind it a news story themselves. Until they do that the mhedia can take a lot of free swings at us without fear.

The tims done this and fought in this propaganda war - now they hardly need to.
 
Anyone sympathetic to us who joins any branch of the media soon has to turn or find themselves out of a job. In the past journalists always had their favourites but ar least tried to be impartial. The political situation in Scotland has changed that. It’s open season on Rangers . 55 really got to them all. If a reporter ever does decide to put his head above the parapet and attempt to expose the hypocrisy of his colleagues his editor will soon stop it
 
We have plenty of ‘friends’ in the media; the problem is they appear to be paid by Yahoo sympathising editors and producers so their content is tailored to suit.

McCoist, Ferguson, Boyd, McCann, Rae, DJ, etc, etc, etc are all useful pawns in the game - there to provide a veneer of balance and safeguard against accusations of bias, but rarely, if ever, will they fight our corner without the editorial approval of their paymasters first.

Where we need to foster more productive relationships is at a political level, but with the landscape as hostile towards a club synonymous with unionism as ours, that looks a nigh on impossible task for the foreseeable future.
 
we have no friends in the mhedia, the agenda has been set for years and is rearing it's ugly head big time now, all the disgraceful anti Rangers tweets and texts which are out there should be front news or they would be if it was anynother club but ours
