Celtic have returned 1,000 of their allocated 2,500 tickets for this Thursday's Europa League second leg against AIK.
The Swedish side confirmed that Celtic were given the option of 2,500 tickets, but only took up around 1,500.
AIK's biggest ever European attendance came in 1997 when they drew 1-1 with Barcelona at the Rasunda stadium. They now play at the Friends Arena, where their record attendance was set in November 2018 when 50,128 watched them draw 0-0 with GIF Sundsvall.
AIK marketing manager Fredrik Soderberg said: "We are trying to beat our record set against Barcelona all those years ago. I think we will be very close to it.
"As of Tuesday, we have sold 27,000 tickets and that number will obviously rise.
"It would be an unbelievable achievement to beat the number of fans who watched the game against Barcelona.
