Ally McCoist - co commentary

He provides serious insight as to what is going on but can instantly flip to quick-witted humour, all while making you feel like he’s having the time of his life.

He’s also a master at giving an honest opinion (and avoiding the fence) in such a way that it is not designed to shock/create clippable content for the drama. Which is refreshing in 2024.

He’s brilliant.
 
Love him but love him for games where he’s a neutral. Don’t think he’s ideal (as a commentator) for our games. Still good fun in the studio
 
Could listen to him all day and night...he has fantastic banter, and knows what he's talking about. He can pick a game up and excite it.....got to love him :)

I think he is pretty neutral when it comes to our games but some of our fans get their nose out of joint because he doesn't act like Hartson or Sutton despite us ridiculing them for how bias they are
 
It must be tough enough to get the co-commentator/analyst gig in EPL matches. As a Scotsman McCoist seems to be in great demand in the EPL and other competitions. He has the gift of the gab but also knows his football. Called it right too in Rangers v Benfica where we weren't leaving cover back when taking corners.

He’s definitely the best we have in the UK.
That wasn’t always the case mind you, some of his early work wasn’t the same quality.
Many many years ago he used to be very bad for stating the absolute obvious, it’s a huge credit to him that he’s turned that around now and gives the best insight there is.
