Is there any chance for detente between both parties? Essentially, everyone wants the same thing - a football club in Bury, fan-owned and retaining all orginal assets (if possible).
(By the way, the irony of fan-unity is not lost on this particular Rangers fan)
Hi
A very good question
At the moment there is only Bury AFC playing in tier ten of the football pyramid.
The set up is sensational, all volunteers from Bury FC, but when you look amongst your supporters there is all kinds of people with skills and professions from the living world, including real experts. And from over 300 volunteers covering all kinds of positions there is nothing that cant be answered.
And as you good Rangers fans know from your assistance in our one member one vote set up, 100% fan owned, we are in control of our destiny. It is open and honest.
The other amazing thing is, we loved our 12000 all seater Gigg Lane, but with only say 4000 crowds it made times difficult but could accommodate the occasional bigger crowd.
Visiting grounds that just have a perimiter rail has somehow been refreshing, friendly and all the clubs are volunteer based and they love their football, and you have a laugh with the players, the game officials, and you can have a drink as you watch.
Our ground share ground we get 1400 fans or so and the joy is incredible.
But during all this has been a group, maybe a very small group, but very vocal spreading hate and bile against Bury AFC which now has really caused a split
The are called the FTP as they all use the hashtag of f... the phoenix. They try to sabotage sponsors and have done many vile things. Somehow they have latched on to the EST / Forever Bury banner.
They call AFC fans rats and worse and dont want us to be anything to do with a saved Bury
The supporters association Forever Bury have been invisible and fanned the flames if they do pop up, they have a proven racist spokesperson they have never condemned too. Forever Bury initially supported the formation of Bury AFC perhaps thinking it was beyond supporters to set up, but now deny the existence of AFC
EST, a secret unelected unknown group who have not declared their agenda, but need the Forever Bury supporters trust to access potential funds, have made a bid which is now being proclaimed as saving Bury FC.
The detail is not declared, but they are not clearing the debt, they are not getting the club shares off SD2 allegedly. If this is so then Bury FC is not being saved. And a new FA membership is needed, so it has to be a new entity, a new club
Otherwise any club in debt just drops down two divisions and restarts debt free.
It can not be so. They are therefore trying to set up another new team.
Getting Gigg Lane would be an achievement but again they are presumably they are restructuring a massive debt
So only one team would be wise
But if that can happen now, will be difficult to see it happen
