Corner Kicks

Its a good question for Clement. There has been no improvement simce he took over. Surely from a squad we would be able to mix it around?
The sad conclusion i 've come to is that we must practise corners all week with our shite defence and attack and it must look as though we're good at them.
Put in some real defenders or attackers and you would soon spot the difference.
This aspect has been a major gap not addressed by PC .
He's never asked about it.

It's inexplicable.

He was asked about it mid February.

Philippe Clement has ruled out the possibility of appointing a new set-piece coach at Rangers.
Plenty of clubs now hire specialist coaches to take care of set-pieces but Light Blues boss Clement is seemingly not interested in following suit.

In the Scottish Premiership this season, only Dundee (14) have more set-play goals than Rangers (7, joint with St Johnstone) but the Gers are underperforming their xG from set-plays (10.21, Opta Analyst).

Clement, speaking at a news conference in quotes reported by the Rangers Review (16 February), said when asked if he would employ a set-piece coach: “No, because I love set pieces and that is a thing of the past but is also a reason, I think I played a lot of games as I scored a lot of goals from set pieces so I will not give away that part.

“I had a feeling we did not create enough [against Ross County] but if you see the data up to now we are doing quite well but we have only performed scoring goals because we hit the crossbar a few times and the goalkeeper made some really good saves so the goalkeepers have overperformed against us up to now in terms of the data if you speak about expected goals and things like that.

“It would be boring if it could not be better, so we are working on trying to do the right things.”

If Goldson learned to head the ball we’d probably have pretty good stats from corners. Put 4 or 5 free headers over the bar this season

I'm sure a graphic during the game had us in 3rd or 4th on goals from corners this season with 7?

Sounded like a lot, knowing what we're like. Might have been counting them from training!

As pathetic and embarrassing this is to say our only hope from a corner is getting a penalty from it.

I love them big floaty outswingers. Love the way they just sail up into the sky and drop down beyond the backpost giving whoever wins it absolutely no chance to do anything remotely positive with it. I really love it when we get corners man.

When we win a header at a corner which is 1 out of 10 it goes over the bar
Try something different before I smash the TV in

It’s simply poor management. One look at the stats suggests the delivery isn’t good enough yet the manager doesn’t seem to have the bottle to tell tav to give someone else a shot.
It’s the manager who tells Tav to take the corners the players play to instructions just don’t decide I will take it so god knows how bad the rest are at them

I’m afraid this shower have returned to all the bad habits, slow pedestrian play between the back line, long aimless passes either out of play or to the opposition with no one near them and what you’ve touched on op, waiting for captain fantastic to trot about and take every throw in, every free kick, every corner and every penalty is returning to the insanely infuriating pathetic showings.
Total lack of energy and drive and I don’t see Tav getting into his teammates as I think the core group are to pally.
I am like you and it's driving me mad ,when I see Tav slowly walking to take the ball off one of our players who was trying to get an advantage it puts me right off and the hand over the mouth when taking a score able free kick letting on he is talking sense when every fool knows what he is going to do especially the opposing team.

There’s more chance of Goldson heading a corner into his own net than there is him scoring at the right end.

it's got to the point I'd rather we just kicked the ball out from the corner to give the opposition a throw-in next to the flag - more chance of creating a chance from that.

Never known why football fans get so excited when teams get corners. The stats show that in terms of goals coming from them the percentages are very low.
