December Review

The goalposts moved when the winter break was brought forward, but the consensus on here seemed to be that if we got out of December retaining our 4 point advantage, then we will have done very well. Our lead is now 6, and that has everything to do with us returning to our relentless title winning form of last season.

Hibs 0 - 1 Rangers
Rangers 3 - 0 Dundee
Lyon 1 - 1 Rangers
Hearts 0 - 2 Rangers
Rangers 2 - 0 St Johnstone
Rangers 1 - 0 Dundee United
Rangers 2 - 0 St Mirren

7 matches in 26 days and it doesn’t come much more polished than that. It’s now easy to forget just how turgid we were in Gerrard’s last couple of months, and how easily we were conceding. But there is now so much more to enjoy. The clean sheets; finding goals earlier in games; the matches generally being stress free owing to limiting the attacking threat of the opposition; the form and contribution of many of our players (Morelos/Goldson/Aribo/Bassey particularly).

It’s been some turnaround in our form under GVB, and he has done it in the most hectic of months. It’s crap waiting so long for our next game but, bask in the glow of the position we have manufactured for ourselves. Here’s to an outstanding 2022.

Its part of the reason this break is so frustrating. Even if it hadnt been moved youd have just wanted to keep going the way we're playing

It was crucial we got out of this month without too much given away. To emerge unscathed and extended our lead is nothing short of perfection.

Well done GVB and the team.

Dundee United was a funny one - kind of knew we would get the goal eventually, it was what 75 mins by the time we did and the fans didnt seem to get as nervous/ angsty as we have in the past. But aye great form wish we could have just kept going
