Doncaster says SPFL are on the verge of a new deal to sponsor the league

The part of the interview I heard the BBC team of Stewart and Tom Irish were licking his arse. This guy eventually crawls out from under his rock and not one challenging question about the cinch shambles, the governance report, Dundee not meeting league rules. A soft soap interview.

This fuckin balloon is who’s sitting at the head of the table in Scottish football. It’s not hard to see why the games on its arse.

He can’t give a straight answer on whether or not the potential new deal is better than our current which is one of the worst in European football.

I genuinely can't believe that there isn't a company who would want to be involved in Scottish football.

One of the most (the most?) well supported leagues throughout Europe given population of the nation, two massive clubs who are global brands and good TV viewing figures for Old firm games in particular.

To be honest it's a disgrace that Doncaster hasn't been given his jotters for the pish he's served us up by way of sponsorship during his tenure.

He's also made a complete lady's front bottom of the TV deal (as discussed on here extensively).

Still, this appears to be a good news story in the making so happy days.

What does he want, a fucking pat on the back?

He's losing Cinch early, a sponsorship deal he signed that the biggest club in the country couldn't be part of, paid hundreds of thousands of pounds to a third party for a finders fee and ended up in court over the deal and lost. He should have been out on his arse just for that.

Now he's bumping his gums about a new sponsor? We only live in a country of 5m people and hundreds of thousands of us go to games every week. Football and Scotland is intertwined. We live and breathe it. How different can it be to find a sponsor when that's your main job and you get nearly half a million quid a year to do it.

This man is a cancer on our game.

On the verge of agreeing a new sponsorship deal that this clown 'hopes' is worth more than the last shambles he signed Scottish football up to.

Translated its not worth more but he doesn't want to admit that.

Absolute disgrace he's still in the position he's in, stealing £400k a year for it too.

If his notice period had been triggered when it became public knowledge it was 2 years notice needed I'm sure we would be near getting rid of him, but instead we stumble on with him massively underselling the product.

What we thinking?

The Duff and Phelps Scottish Premier League?
Farmfoods Scottish Premier League?
Ocean Finance Scottish Premier League?

Mr Clutch Scottish Professional Football League has a ring to it :))

I happen to know the owners of Mr Clutch.

They've had a bad time of it lately, two accountants in a row have nicked a total of over a million quid off them in the last few years. They've had to shut a few branches, including the Glasgow one I think.

Their corporate colours would be ideal for Doncaster though.

it won't be Lidl, Aldi or Farmfoods, those are successful companies

will probably be Poundstretcher or that Bevvy thing on Hibs' top

New TV deal as well seemingly.

SPFL chief executive Neil Doncaster expects a further 20 Scottish Premiership games to be purchased by a broadcaster other than Sky Sports.

The 54-year-old also told BBC Radio Scotland he is "optimistic" on finding a new title sponsor for the top four divisions.

An additional package of fixtures would be on top of Sky Sports' updated deal, which will give them the option of showing a maximum of 60 games from the top flight, up from 48 in recent years.

Doncaster named Amazon Prime, Premier Sports, TNT Sports and DAZN as potential suitors to take the additional TV games.

We're going up from 48 to a maximum of 60 with Sky, giving the clubs the ability to have up to five pay-per-view games a season," Doncaster said on BBC Sportsound.

With that useless, overpaid c**t working on it it'll guaranteed to be shit. Still, they need the money to keep him on his obscene wage.

That'll be an extra 6 grand to spread between all the clubs.

I don't think it's a good thing having another subscription service show games. It's beyond a joke now.
