At a disciplinary hearing today (18 April 2024), Dundee FC admitted five separate breaches of SPFL Rules relating to their Dens Park pitch.

This followed postponements of cinch Premiership matches on 7 October 2023, 23 December 2023, 2 January 2024, 17 March 2024, and 10 April 2024.

As a result, Dundee were fined £186,000, of which £120,000 is suspended until the end of season 2024/25.

This suspended element will be automatically triggered in the event of a further breach of SPFL Rules relating to pitch condition next season.

An SPFL spokesman commented: “SPFL Rules on pitch condition are an integral part of maintaining a fair league competition.”

So who pays for the pitch consultants appointed by spfl and I assume they are needed at least until the seasons end .

And what about next and subsequent seasons given they have no plans to repair the infrastructure and turf . Isn’t remediation the most important issue now .

What’s that circa 12k per game bet the costs of other clubs and fanbases are way above that

So if the rules are there to ensure a fair competition and they've been found guilty of breaching those rules then by definition teams having to play there at this time of year are being unfairly disadvantaged.

Toothless and utterly predictable.

I only hope there is a shite weather all through July in Dundee so that come the 2nd of August the pitch is unplayable again and those shitehawks have to pay the rest of it on day one of the season.

66k with the rest suspended unless it happens again next season.

I think there's a fair chance it will happen again before this season is out!

Meanwhile Scottish football is out of pocket £100k to Sky, we as fans and a club are out of pocket for 2 trips to Dundee and overnight stays that shouldn't have had to happen.

Disgrace.

Neglected the pitch to sign players they couldn’t have afforded otherwise, they should get a points reduction it was a blatant disregard for the rules

SPFL admitting this has been unfair on the affected teams that have had to play at Dens , how the Aberdeen game before our 1st postponement was played i'll never know same for Motherwell game

SPFL Disciplinary Verdict
Following an SPFL disciplinary hearing today, Dundee FC has been advised of the Tribunal’s findings as set out in the below SPFL press release, which in our view is inaccurate. Dundee FC has in fact been fined £150,000, of which £120,000 is suspended until the end of season 2024/25. This suspended element will be automatically triggered in the event of a single waterlogged pitch postponement next season.
In addition, £36,429.60 is payable as compensation to the SPFL for television and pitch specialist costs.
Dundee Football Club are deeply disappointed with the severity of the punishment and are currently seeking legal advice with regards to an appeal.
The club will be making no further comment on the outcome while we seek legal advice.

They are actually ripping it seeking legal advice to appeal!

Who pays compensation to the fans?

Has anyone seen details of pitch consultants , which company and how much costs currently stand at ? At whether they are onsite to ensure the other fixtures happen to schedule ?

What is it with Scottish football and suspended fines and so on until end of season or whatever?

What is the point of it. Fine the feckers now.

Something stinks regarding Dundee's shenanigans surrounding our fixture up there. If we had played and won up there at the scheduled date, we would have topped the table before meeting the peasants at Ibrox.

Wither we like it or not this full farce has impacted in where we are a week from a preparation point of view
