Injury update from manager

Don't know how many times it's been said before but there was a reason Rossiter was let go from Liverpool so easily, spent more time injured in his career than he has played! Was a couple of weeks ago he said he was feeling great aswel So short in the midfield for Saturday!

Holt to make an appearance tomorrow night then? Dorrans not trained due to illness, depending on the illness I'd probably rest him until Saturday now.

Think the minute the final whistle goes at games Rossiter needs to be bubbled wrapped, surrounded with cotton balls and put in cold storage.

Ridiculous injury record

This thread is certainly highlighting the folly of some on here demanding that Wallace be dropped.

These injuries have simply flagged up what we all knew, our squad is thin.

Declan John had been capped for Wales and played 15 games in the EPL. More games than Patrick Roberts has ever played at that level.

Another 90 min under his belt and he will be fine.

Our squad doesn't have the depth to cope with a few injuries to be honest. In fact, we don't really even seem to have a genuine left winger to replace McKay even from the start, since Dalcio has disappeared off the RADAR.

It's not well balanced before we even start looking at players being unavailable.

Difficult not to think that the next two games could go badly. Worse to look ahead in the calendar and the fact that we're only a few weeks away from St Johnstone and Aberdeen games as well. Tough run of fixtures when we've had a horribly inconsistent run against some of the poorer teams so far.

We just cant catch a bloody break can we? its hard enough racking up against the mentally challenged bastards just now with the referees turning a blind eye to everything they do and the press consistently undermining our team and our management.

Dread to think how some of our players will survive a Scottish winter... that said, the summer is pretty much as pish just a bit warmer.

Only got ourselves to blame on both fronts - some glaring holes in the recruitment in the summer plus made an arse of what was a decent early fixture list.

Long autumn and winter ahead I think.

Seemed an absolute no-brainer that we needed a replacement for McKay when he left. The real worry is that he brought Dalcio in to do that job and has now decided/realised he's not up to it. If that's the case, the boat should've been pushed out on it later in the window as a priority IMHO.

Walker looked frightening for Hearts at the weekend.

Honestly get Rossiter to phuck.
As others have said a young player with a good pedigree isn't let go for no reason.
DOF should be also looking at a replacement for Wallace in the long term.

Think we need to cut our losses with rossiter, he's basically the scouse Daniel prodan, it's a shame for the lad but that wage would be better used on a left or right back that will actually play.

Bad news r.e Rossiter.

We need the midfield stiffening up , the Barjonas shout might not be a bad one .

But can see Holt playing a part ahead of him an all honesty.

Oooft. Not one bit of good news there. That really means we will be cobbling a team together for the weekend.

We still have Tuesday night first, any knocks in that and we could really be in trouble. Need to give any prospective starters on Saturday a run tomorrow, Thompson,Barjonas.

What has happened to Dalcio, is he so woeful that he is not even considered now?

At what stage do we cut our losses with Rossiter?

I like him, and do rate him, but he's honestly never fit.

Shame again for rossiter hope he can get over this latest injury but he does seem to be always injured & not available perhaps time to move him out in January & try get someone else in

There is no doubt in my mind Niko is done in a physical sense.

Going by stories he tried his damnedest to get back to full fitness, bringing in his own specialist trainers, he gave it his all.

He just doesn't posses the physicality required of a pro athlete anymore.
What a shame (for us & him) he has shown flashes of what a player he could be for us

Rossiter has been a woeful time with injuries - feel bad for the lad but he's unavailable for 4 out of 5 games and the games he does play in he looks bang average.

I'd seriously look to bring in Jamie Barjonas into the midfield. He'd show no fear.

Definitely.

From the little I saw of him I liked the way he had his head up, constantly looking about and across, checking where team-mates and opponents were. Good tackler and passer, and as said he just doesn't look afraid of the opposition.

I've high hopes for him.

We go with the same as we have for every other game so far this season.
4-4-2

Fod
Tav Alves Cardoso John
Candeias Jack dorrans Windass
Miller Morelos

This will be the team that faces THEM.
We don't change how we play, especially at home to anyone in this league.

Why would we change to a 5 at the back and invite them onto us for 90 minutes with little to no outlet to get up the park?

We don't change, we go at them and have a go.
We are at home and we should attack.

No fear!

Said before the start of the season that we'll never be able to rely on Rossiter and that's sadly looking accurate.

Think we need to cut our losses with the lad.

It is a shame, no doubting the guy was quality in the past. But he wont ever be that player again.

My heart sinks when we start him, you are one sub down already as you know he will need replaced at the absolute most after 60 minutes.

Super sub until we run his contract down. Give some young ones a shot at an hour on the park.

This recent crop of injuries shows how much we may need to rely on the youngsters at this point in the squad rebuild. They need to be ready (or as ready as they can possibly be) when called upon.
