Kicks off, literally, tonight at Beechwood Park, Auchinleck where we take on Darvel

Not going to lie, we will be up against it over 2 games - a one-off may have suited us, as underdogs, better

Got to fancy Talbot over the 2 legs, Christ the talk was relegation a month into the season and with a good run they could end up winning the double!

Not been up that way this week but itis a lot better than it ever used to be

If the game had been at Darvel tonight I'd be more worried about it being off

Darvel have had a hoodoo over us for ages, which is why I'd have preferred to play them once and hope for a shock. Yes we beat them in the big Scottish last term but I can't remember the last time we beat them in the league

When is the second leg ? Who's in the other Semi Final also mate.
 
Will head up to Dunterlie after the Ross County game on Sunday, looking forward to the return leg at Keanie Park next Saturday night.

Can’t really complain about that tbh. Could’ve easily been more.

Need to score first next week - obviously - but Darvel just need to sit back and hit us on the counter.

Score doesn’t flatter Darvel.

However, only halftime in the tie. Can easily lose by the same score next week :(
 
I dont follow the juniors like I use to but is it just me or have Darvel been a better club in the last few years or were they always good?
 
Also heading for Dunterlie for Arthurlie v Johnstone Burgh after our game. There used to be a portacabin bar in the ground. Wonder if it's still going ?

When they were in the district leagues they were absolutely rank

Then the pie man put in a tonne of cash and lured Mick Kennedy from the "amateurs" and they spunked it on much better players and went up the leagues

They have a good squad, albeit greatly reduced this season as they offloaded players to balance the books

No idea how Tony will do with the reduced budget and whether more players will leave if they don't get the wages promised

First thing is there isn’t any juniors from Dundee down now all
Teams fife and below are no longer juniors and play under the easy and
West/south of Scotland banners. They still get to play in the junior cup for some bonkers reason to keep it relevant when in reality it should only be juniors in it.

I was at both games over the weekend. 2 decent crowds in although if I had to guess I'd say today's game was busier. Darvel should win this cup without many issues. Far superior to Talbot and Arthurlie and Johnstone both looked pretty average today although the surface wasnt great. Really bobbly and the grass looked long. 2nd leg of Johnstone v Arthurlie next Saturday should be good. Dorrans still has ability but didn't see much of the ball. I'll go for a Darvel v Johnstone final. Darvel to win it 3-0.

Swithering whether to go down to the Burgh game. So many folk going it'll be a great turn out but I quite fancy going to a new ground I've never been to, but the games aren't really standing out.
 
Going to Keanie Park for the first time tomorrow, surface looks absolutely superb

Hopefully it's a decent game
