Lammers

if he keeps going - we might just get what we paid for him or there abouts

considering we we writing the transfer fee off a few months back - this is promising

Him and Dessers will be away in the summer. A couple of million each I recon.

Yet another big summer window, the transfer thread will be a blast

Was definitely said to be loan to buy at the time mate but not sure

I don’t think there was.

The forward, who has scored twice in 31 appearances in light blue, has had more limited game time under new manager Philippe Clement and now has the opportunity to reset at another club, though it’s understood there is no fixed option for Utrecht to buy Lammers at the end of the loan.

Clearly has talent but not the mentality to play under pressure.

Performing well in a relatively pressure free environment.

Agreed. Its very similar to when people say we missed the boat big time with Lewis Ferguson. We all know he would never have been allowed to develop into the player he has became in Italy with the pressure and criticism you get here if the team is struggling. Especially if we paid £2mil+ for him.

Decent enough player but no surprise he’s flourishing at a mid table Dutch side.

Smaller club, less pressure, less expectation. Suits him perfectly.

Not the greatest business but i'd be delighted if we could get £1.5-£2.0m back on him and get him off the wage bill.
Id take a fraction to get him gone because if we mess around with fees and a move does not materialise hes stuck at Rangers next season.

The reality then would be, as unproductive as he is and as counter productive as it would be to pick him, he would play simply because hes on high wages and not playing him makes it all the harder to move him.

We have to be very realistic - he was a really poor signing, he was nothing short of a disaster trying to play for us and he must never play for us again.

Big Phil obviously doesn’t think so.

Clement played Lammers in almost every game until he left.

He had been rotating Dessers/Danilo until Danilo got injured then had been rotating Dessers/Silva until there was no other options.

I think it was more a case of we needed “somebody” to leave to allow Phil to start bringing in his own players.

We had a variety of players who could play the 10 but only one 9. Had Danilo been fit we may have seen Dessers go, there was talk.

FWIW the story going around about 2 months ago was that Fc Twente were interested in him when we signed him. They are still interested and its thought a deal might be done at around £2.5m

Utrecht dont have enough cash to sign players at that value apparently

Hopefully our money back, be a more than decent acquisition for any of the big 3's squad
´More than decent´ for the big 3 in Holland? But doesn´t come even come close to doing a job for us?

Nah, the lad is hopeless. Lets just hope he carries on with this half decent run of form and we can claw some sort of fee back for him while most importantly getting his long term wages off our wage bill.

Get our money back on both Lammers and Dessers this summer and it’ll be a good recoup of money. Don’t think we will struggle to get our money back given they’ve both scored a decent amount of goals and assists this year.

Getting to the point if we dont get all our money back it will be a failure of negotiation on our part. If Utrecht cant afford him surely somebody else in that league can.

He was a cross between Laudrup, De Boer and Jelavic to many in pre season. Obviously a talented player but the jersey was too heavy and Beale absolutely ruined his confidence playing him out of position and in a role and tactical setup where no fucker knew what they were doing and he never recovered.

Wish him no ill well and hope he keeps tearing it up.

Rangers forward Sam Lammers has become became just the third player this century to score in five successive games for Utrecht, his double in the 3-2 win over Heerenveen strengthened his side's play-off prospects and taking the 26-year-old's total to seven goals in three months on loan in the Netherlands.
