Today capped off what was all in a pretty abysmal league season as reflected by the fact it was the least amount of points we have picked up since COVID
4 wins in 10 league games in a title run in. Not sure how it could get much worse.Got to be one of the most spectacular capitulations ever for a football team unless anyone can offer any alternatives.
To be in the box seat 6 weeks ago to where we finished is absolutely embarrassing and should see a good number of Rangers careers end as a result.
We'd lost almost half of our first eight league fixtures then Beale got sacked, the damage was done. Clement worked a miracle with a squad as bad as any we've had.Would have been worse under that fuckwit Beale and Phil didn't come in.
I had said similar and thought that when Beale spent a fortune he actually made us worse.said earlier in season Gerrards 1st couple of seasons we had a better team ........ hard to argue differently
Beale achieved 92 points last seasonToday capped off what was all in a pretty abysmal league season as reflected by the fact it was the least amount of points we have picked up since COVID
He brought in our best player this season and without injuries, the second best player this season.Beale made the squad worse than the previous 4 seasons so I am not surprised.
Beale fkd us early on and created a ridiculously unbalanced team, we needed wide players with pace and power and he spent 3.5million on Lammers when we already had 3 no.10's if you include Hagi.
He also built the team around Tav, Goldson, Lundstram etc so we were on a hiding to nothing from the beginning, we need to stop kidding ourselves on, other than one season with no fans, it hasn't worked for us.
The full team needs ripped apart, we need the element of surprise next season.
And he's the biggest reason why we didn't reach it this season.Beale achieved 92 points last season
Of course,And he's the biggest reason why we didn't reach it this season.
Totally agree.said earlier in season Gerrards 1st couple of seasons we had a better team ........ hard to argue differently
The reaction on here would have been very different to playing Sterling as a right and left winger for months while the midfield looked so open if it was Beale making that call.He brought in our best player this season and without injuries, the second best player this season.
I’m no fan of Beale but if he’d just came off the last eleven weeks than Clement has, this forum would be killing dozens of hamsters. Some of these players are Clements too and joined the team when we were in ascendency.
I wasn't for Beale & for some reason just never took to him but we can't just continue to blame the previous management for all of our current problems. He brought in our best player this season and without injuries, the second best player this season.

I can offer a multitude of capitulations over the years that far exceed an average squad dragging itself from nowhere into a title race then ultimately falling short. Waste of time blowing this league campaign out of proportion. We were never good enough and just when it looked like beyond all reason we might just pull off an unlikely league title, reality bit and we dropped points. We were never favorites for the title at any point. That lot have won it god knows how many times over the last 15 years so anyone other than them winning it would have been a shock. Phil has given us a cup win, a good run in Europe, a sniff of a title even if it ultimately wasn't to be and another cup final to come next week.Got to be one of the most spectacular capitulations ever for a football team unless anyone can offer any alternatives.

I get your point, but it wasn’t really mid season for one thing. Clement got 79% of our league games. He got the bulk of the season. Yes he didn’t have a pre-season nor the transfer window obviously but even the transfer window was no where near as bad as it’s been made out to be . In fact it’s arguably produced the three bright spots we have had in the squad - Butland, Sima and Sterling.Taking charge of a team mid season must be awful.
Particularly our one.
Clement has a massive summer. He really needs to be ruthless and show some balls.
Get rid of the deadwood and rot infesting our squad.
The only quick way to help the injury issues is to ditch the main culprits (ooc etc)
Tavernier is a problem that will make or break him.
Yeah was more or less meaning the preseason over anythingI get your point, but it wasn’t really mid season for one thing. Clement got 79% of our league games. He got the bulk of the season. Tillman, Sakala, Kent, Morelos, Hagi, Colak, Arfield, Cantwell and Motondo (last seasons attacking players) are far better than Dessers, McCausland, Sima, Silva, Motondo andCantwell.Think about who left last summer and who the replacements were.
Colak out = Dessers in - Downgrade
Kamara out = Cifuentes in - Downgrade
Sakala out = Lammers in - Downgrade
Arfield out = Dowell in - Downgrade
Devine out (on loan) = Sterling in - Upgrade
McGregor out (retired) = Butland in - Huge upgrade
Kent out = Sima in - definite upgrade
Morelos out = Danilo in - Upgrade but crippled with injuries.
Some upgrades but the players that look half decent have been unavailable through injury.
Your point on the ruthlessness resonates most with me. The squad needs a new identity and a new captain. Surely there is no one left that would debate that. And those who are merely collecting their paycheck need gone or allowed to collect it from the stands.Yeah was more or less meaning the preseason over anything
That’s where the hard work is done and it’s clearly shown us up
We certainly had a harder working teamsaid earlier in season Gerrards 1st couple of seasons we had a better team ........ hard to argue differently
Absolutely agree with that. Element of surprise isn't spoken about enough.Beale fkd us early on and created a ridiculously unbalanced team, we needed wide players with pace and power and he spent 3.5million on Lammers when we already had 3 no.10's if you include Hagi.

Enough with the dramatic language and a bit of perspective of what's required in terms of squad turnover to make us properly competitive again going fwd.
Cannae blame Beale for that.4 wins in 10 league games in a title run in. Not sure how it could get much worse.
Yes, getting Butland was a real coup to be fair. Sima less so, but he’s not our player. The players that Clement has brought, Diomande and Cortes show real promise. Sterling was a good surprise too, but he will be forever known for Dessers and Lamers, that’s not going to change. He left us weaker than when he arrived. He brought in our best player this season and without injuries, the second best player this season.

i was laughed at on here for even suggesting itI had said similar and thought that when Beale spent a fortune he actually made us worse.
This is the caveat to all the bad things this season.Would have been worse under that fuckwit Beale and Phil didn't come in.
The title has never at any point been out of the hands of the fuckers across the road who have won 11 out of the last 12 titles. At no point have we ever had the right to call ourselves outright favourites for the league. If the bookies ever had us favourutes it would only have been by a slight margin. We got close. As close as this squad was capable of getting. That's a testament to Clements ability to polish a terd.We were bookies favourites from about February onwards until the disgusting collapse at Ross County and Dundee.
Our wage bill is bigger than theirs. The board and the fans did our bit. It's our worst squad since Gerrard arrived, its not a real surprise if you look at it subjectively.
No and that’s the worry - next weeks games is massive - win and we will be feeling better - losing and we are in troubleCannae blame Beale for that.
