Old Boys of the Brigade

I was part of it.

I had a blue T-Shirt with the BB badge in black in the middle of it.

I remember getting changed in a school near to Ibrox.

I think we might had done some gym stuff on the pitch but can’t be certain. My Mum and aunty were in the crowd. Great day.

I was there on the pitch doing vaults over the horse, with many other guys.

Great memories of the Boys Brigade!
Taught me many good things & experiences, which I still hold dear today!
Would recommend any youngster to join!

"We're the boys of the 252!"

252nd Company of the Glasgow Battalion of the Boys Brigade.

Netherton St Matthew's Parish, Church of Scotland.

"The advancement of Christ's kingdom among Boys and the promotion of habits of Obedience, Reverence, Discipline, Self-respect and all that tends towards a true Christian manliness."

SURE AND STEADFAST!
True values completely missing in today's society. I was in the BB 22 years. An incredible organization for BOYS to develop into productive young adults, who understood the meaning of respect and work ethic. Also a great precursor to Freemasonry. Sadly as we witnessed the demise of these organizations (boy scouts in America now being called Scouting America for inclusion) the demise of society followed. I wonder why?

Well done to all the young men achieving their Queens Badge (although I assume it's now the King's Badge?)
Sadly like all Christian establishments, the Boys Brigade is rapidly declining in popularity amongst our youngsters so credit to these boys for sticking in and achieving something positive that they should be proud of for the rest of their lives!

Canny remember this acknowledgement on ma youth despite gaining The Queen's Badge!

The Duke of Edinburgh (Prince Edward) inspects the Boys' Brigade at St Giles in Edinburgh today

Think I must have paraded at the Opening of the General Assembly 3 or 4 times. I recall guys from my company going every year

I was there mate, my son is in the anchor boys. Well done to your boy, great achievement.
I hope your lad gates as much enjoyment out of it as mine has, he’s not missed a night since his first in the Junior Section 12 years ago, now more than ever with more and more use of technology youngsters need organisations like the BBs to gather and socialise.
