Postecoglou at Spurs

Whilst he’s having a mare right now, there’s a fair chance he could end up back in the east end. Which we could do without to be honest.

Fulham 3-0 Spurs
Newcastle 4-0 Spurs
Arsenal 3-2 Spurs
Chelsea 2-0 Spurs
Liverpool 4-2 Spurs

All those results within the last two months and the only goals they have scored in those matches came once they were down 3 and 4-0.

It's gone exactly how a lot of us expected it to go. Caught teams off guard at first, but his system is so exploitable if you have the quality. His champions league campaign, even in a weak group for the competitions standard was the warning.

He's never managed in a league that wasn't poor until his move to Spurs. Big difference playing this style of football and it's Simon Murray and Scott Pittman trying to play through it while you have a massive financial advantage over ten of the other eleven clubs in the league, and another at the highest level where even the bottom half clubs have multiple players they could sell for 40+ million.

Postecoglou and Robertson having a few friendly words after the game. He looks like someone from the dole who's been to the job centre for an interview in his Primarni suit. Surely he can afford better or even get one made to measure?

Bit like Craig Levein, probably couldn’t care less about fashion!

Spurs didn't have the extra European games, if they qualify for Europe next season and he's still there they'll finish 6-10th place imo.

His style of football only works in 1 sided leagues like ours.

If levy is as ruthless as some thing then they'll terminate in the summer and get a proper coach in

I think this will happen, he took a punt on him and for a very short time it looked to have worked. They then started playing decent sides and have fell off a cliff.

Had a good start but has been found out quickly at that level. Even then there were a lot of games that could have went the other way were it not for last minute goals.

Interesting to see what Spurs do in the summer.

It isn't the they've been found out, it's that he's refused to adapt at all. Liverpool could've had 10 today if they had timed offside better

Unless levy is going to back him with hundreds of millions then its a waste of time keeping him for next season, to play the way he wants to play and get consistent results over a season would need him to have a side better than everyone else or a side that there not to far off the best teams. Otherwise when they come up against better sides the majority of the time there going to come up short. We know levy isn’t going to fund that so unless he appreciates that you have to defend in football too, especially when the other side will outscore you if you go for it because they have better players. Then they wont move any further forward.

I don't know if that's true. There's not another team that is as gung ho/wide open as his. Even pep has adapted to the premier League, with 4 centre backs and a deviated DCM

More than likely, however a perceptive chief exec would see these results, first 4 losses in a row in 20 years, and a unwillingness to adapt and grab the bull by the horns in the summer
I totally agree mate, however, he inherited a shit show and their early season form will save him I reckon? I do expect him to be out a job by Christmas though as he is unwilling to change his style.

He’ll be able to buy a lot of Bisto with his pay off, mate :))

They have players who can hurt the sides better than them in the league, you’d think he’d change to counter attacking when he faces them, it kinda ties in with what he’s trying to do in terms of moving the ball fast and players running over loading the attacking areas. Just means you have to coach a bit of defending too, which he doesnt seem to think is needed,

Poor guy must be struggling with the fact that refs and VAR aren't giving his team all the advantages. He must have thought that was what football in the UK was like based on his time in Scotland?

And why aren't the refs letting the opposition batter fu-k out of players at his main rivals of Arsenal, Man City, Chelsea and Liverpool, and sidelining some of their players for weeks or months?

And why the hell aren't the media licking his butt clean?

Him failing is brilliant and it’s going the same way as most people thought it would.

Spurs as a club are a shambles though. They’ve had plenty of proper coaches in recent years and they’ve been able to achieve nothing.

You can't play his style of football against quick players and teams who have decent squads his style of football worked because of the financial disparity up here and we were a bit of a shambles at the time.
He's being found out every game now.
