Reports that Barasic has signed a pre-contract with a Turkish team and Lundstram is hoping to do so as well

Its really a symptom of previous poor management at the club.

No player ever should be allowed to run down their contract at Rangers. Put them up for sale in the final year and move them out. Players agents will happily oblige such a scenario before anyone says it’s not that simple as buyers need to be found. Buyers will be found.

Yeah, buyers will be found. However, will they offer a price you are prepared to accept? Would we have sold Lundstram for £50k last Summer or has it benefitted us more to retain him? Would we have accepted £1m for Morelos or did we think retaining him for that final season potentially offered us better?

There's a lot more to it than simply finding some other club willing to 'buy'.

Doesn't matter with Jack and Roofe, out of contract. After the season finished they can go. Why fret about whether they get another club? Its not our job to find them another club.
Poorly worded mate. I more meant what their application would likely be for us until the end of the season.

Ryan Jack pulls out a challenge because he doesn’t have a club lined up or guaranteed income.

Lundstam has a signed contract, so he would be less concerned about picking up an injury.

What has to happen is an acceptance that us playing with width isn’t feasible. It’s a failed experiment in the main. And the lack of wide options should negate us playing it now anyway.

The midfield area, especially against Celtic must be packed and beefed up to compensate for their press etc.

If we line up as is, we will get scudded.

That's nonsense and it really isn't that simple to move some players on.

It isn't, but if you take a hardline approach, it would potentially be easier. Make it clear that when a player enters the last 24 months of deal that they either extend or move on. Failure to do either and you are sitting in the stands for 2 years. Aye some players might be acceptable to that, but not many would want to waste 2 years of their career.

Manager is in a no win situation.

Players out of contract can speak and sign for anyone they like, it is what it is.

We are not blessed with a big fit squad to drop them so he will have to play them if he needs to.

Dammed if he does or doesnt play them

At his best, he was brilliant.

Played his part in some fantastic games as a Rangers player. Very reactionary to say he hasn’t served us well.
Bottle merchant against the tims for a start, 6 years 2.2 million cost and no doubt at least a million a year on salary, lets say he cost £10 million all in with the fee / wages.

3 cups in six years, not for me.

When will people learn that the players and their agents hold all the cards now and have done for a very long time.

Rangers can't win. If we'd sold Morelos for the 16 million when we had the chance, but that kind of money was being seen as an insult. Move on a couple of seasons and it's Rangers who carry the can for losing him for free.

Never a day goes by without a dig at the club on here, certain posters will find anything to have a go. Your meant to be supporters, at least try and show it sometime.

Maybe a good thing? If they have their futures secured, they have a club to go to regardless of injury?

The likes of Jack, Roofe etc I would be more concerned about because if they are injured they will be less likely to attract a club for the new season
They can't officially sign until their contracts are up so if either tore ligaments etc, I doubt the clubs would take up the offer.

Time for both to move on imo

If Ridvan is fit Sterling moves in CM with big D

Lunny should be dropped on form alone never mind if he's signed a deal elsewhere

When you look at the summer its frighting the rebuild we face

Was mad and negilgent not to take the money for Morelos - not once was he good the whole season.

Do you apply the same criteria to those playing for other clubs who sign pre-contracts with Rangers? Should Souttar, for example, never have kicked a ball again for Hearts after signing a pre-contract with us? 4 months kicking his heels before joining us for pre-season.

I suspect that many times we simply don't know that pre-contracts have been signed as the two clubs chose to keep it quiet - if they can. As we probably saw with Ryan Jack when we signed him.

Its simply a part of football life these days. Up to Managers to assess what they think the player will deliver. All will be different.
Yes.

Madness. So every player that chooses to exercise his right to see out his contract, and then signs a pre-contract elsewhere, is put in cold storage? You’d probably go the whole hog and simply refuse to play anyone in the last year of their contract, wouldn’t you? With that sort of contract management no c*unt would ever sign for your Club.

It’s easy saying that with the benefit of hindsight, but at the time the vast majority were in agreement that the board were right to hold out for the money we were asking for.

There were a few dissenting voices at the time but not many. Morelos was at the peak of his powers then and we all thought we could easily get the £20mill or whatever it was we were asking for.

It obviously never worked out that way but it was miles from negligence

They haven't busted a gut for ages now anyway.

Glad to be getting rid. Hopefully more to follow.

Why do we think Lundstram isn't signing a new deal, the manager certainly seemed like he wanted him to do and Lundstram loves the club so I presume he was offered a new deal, do you reckon he's not been offered as much money and/or only a two year deal or something.

Still chances of honours to be won,not sure about borna but can't see lundstrum chucking it even though he's been woeful lately and looks knackered at times he can still do us a job till the end of the season.

It’s quite clearly a financial decision, it can’t be anything else I wouldn’t think.

Good luck with the wagebill and attracting players from that point on

Long time defender of BB but wont lose any sleep over either leaving.
Easily £30k off wage bill which can be better used.

Wish them both well in future but if they are daft enough to go to Turkiye they wont have happy times.

I'm fine with that. Why they do it after seeing what happened to Ryan Kent and many others who went to Turkey.

He is undroppable as there is nobody better to take his place. Had a couple of poor games recently like the rest but imo been one of our better players and never hides. If he goes wish him all the best
He hid for 3 years. He had 2 good spells in 4 years. He will be okay for accomadation in turkey as he has been towing a caravan for years.

Both have the chance to leave with another 2 medals. If they've already signed their contracts elsewhere then they've got their money guaranteed.

I'd rather Borna didn't play due to him being pretty poor this season. Lundstrum has largely been fine but is much better with Diomande beside him.

£30k and the rest…

If the rumours about Lundstram are true he should be dropped.

He may assure the manager he’ll give it his all in these final few games and he may even believe it himself, but will he really be flying into 50/50s and risk jeopardising his move through injury?

We need players who are 100% committed to the cause in these last few games.
