It has made it worse, linesmen and refs aren't giving some decisions on the basis they know VAR can bail them out.

We keep reading it's not VAR it's the people operating it, they are one and the same.

The whole thing is a shambles.

VAR didn't not see the handball by Johnson. That was Walsh and Collum.
It has got us some decisions that we never would have in the past.

One major problem is that we have the Ryanair version. The clubs and others are happy to moan but you get what you pay for.

Dougie Potter is a good linesman and a Bear as well. Shame he's let down by all the refs as he deserves to experience the Euros.

They had one of the best referees in Hugh Dallas who could have had a role in improving standards, but he wasn't acceptable to a certain team. They got rid of him. Same with Gordon Smith, at the SFA. It appears that you need to be of a certain religious persuasion to get a top job, or an officiating role, in Scotland. Other qualifications are ignored and we all know how, Lawwell's preferred recruitment firm, Nolan Partners, have landed us with some terrible appointments.

Dallas was an out and out ratbag and coward. FFS, there's a famous still of him running towards a fracas between Hateley and Macnamara, at the cesspit in March 97, he clearly sees Macnamara punch Hateley, yet it is Hateley he red carded.

His cowardice in not red carding Stewart Kerr in their shame game in May 99?

A scumbag of a referee.


That's not to say he should have been sacked in the manner he was.

Bobby Madden, and he chucked it from down there cause he wasnt very good…

Bobby Madden. Sure I remember him making an arse of one game. Unsure about the rest of his time there.
