Could for a few reasons, like limiting other clubs knowledge about your financial situation, or taking pressure off the player because they cost X amount of money.

Don’t think any club these days directly reveal how much they paid, but will filter it through media on occasion.

Very hard for him to be a success here. We play 1 up front and our starting striker is very good. Being asked to replace him is hard enough but not playing for weeks at a time then having to replace him is impossible.

Hopefully can rebuild his career at Young Boys and Motherwell will be glad to see the back of him.
