Funnily enough BR I work with a few 'Well fans and the older guys (40+) are more or less of the same mindset in your post. I don't expect other clubs to love us but at least have the respect. We can still have the arguments/ banter about how our teams get on/ which ref is the biggest cůnt etc etc without it descending into the "big bad proddies/ Rangers" mantra.

That said, even the younger (mid 20s- early 30s) ones who were having a laugh about us during our troubles started saying a couple of years ago "this isn't funny anymore"

None of them are exactly regulars at Fir Park these days, obviously shifts are a big factor but even when they are able to take in a game, they tend to do so from afar as they are fed up with the way things are going.

Very worrying times really as habit only takes you so far
 
I really wonder what the end game plan is for fans of teams like Motherwell. Have they even thought through what they are doing. It doesn't seem like it. Joining the bandwagon, putting the boot into Rangers, ably assisting Celtic F.C.

With all due respect to the O.P who is in a very small minority, hell mend them in the long run. Rangers aren't going away, but I can't say the same for some of the other clubs.

Recently I was abroad on my own for a night due to a stopover in a country

I heard a group of scottish lads talking and asked if I could join them for a beer .. not a problem, within 5 mins they asked who I supported, they were 2 St mirren fans and a well fan over for the rugby, they just spent the next 5 mins telling me how Rangers are this and that and the worst thing to happen bla bla bla

Would never get that from an Englisnman or even an Irishman most of the time, but was made to feel very unwlecome by apparent fellow countrymen

Its poupular to hate Rangers just now even though 9/10 they can't even tell you why they do

We are an isolated group now.
Something needs done, they all must be devastated we are still here and with 50k at games and gerrard to boot.

Scotland was once a proud nation, full of inventors and a people who had the protestant work ethic.

We now have a country where people believe that they are no longer in charge of their own destiny and instead blame England and English for failures.

Scotland is becoming a nation built on a false grievance against England as its own politicians fail to take responsibility and seek to blame others for their own ineptitude and mismanagement. Honest voters it is not us its failing even though we get disproportionally more money from British taxpayers, it is the English that is making SNP fail to spend it wisely.

Scotland needs to throw off the shackles of republicanism and go back to good old protestant work ethic.

A fairer distribution of wealth down through all the leagues led by Rangers would go someways to lessen the hatred of the club.
We seen in it for ourselves during the journey how the clubs ( on the whole) welcomes our travelling support due to those visits were keeping their club alive for a season or more due to the additional income.
Most fans hate us because we were successful and cash flow was never an option( or so it seemed at the time) this brought about resentment towards the club and fans!
It’s time we wrestled back control of the SPFL boards and started to influence the SFA and then move to a fairer financial model for all clubs.
How we actually do that is a tough one but we would need the support of the other clubs first!

My own opinion is the dividing lines in Scottish football are no longer religious but are now political.

Rangers fans, rightly or wrongly, are seen as No voters and therefore "fair game" to the self proclaimed 45 (yes voters).

You just have to look back at social media before the independence vote to see how vocal and confident yes voters were with regards independence. The silent majority/traitors mainly kept their opinions to themselves until the day of the vote.

Having the SNP in power encourages the nationalist lunatics to push their agenda.

I could go on for hours......

When I joined the ABOD over your way loads of the boys were Motherwell fans.

Sad to see the venom spewed at our club from not just everyone of our enemies but some sections of your club too.

Always didn't mind Motherwell either.

I'd almost reached the point of just becoming the most hateful bastard the world has ever known. The constant stream of shite that pours over our fans and club from seemingly every direction makes you just want to say, phuck the lot of you.

It's actually given me a real lift to know that there are still sane people out there.

Now, just set about convincing some of those in your own support of what you've just posted in here and we'll all start normalising things slowly but surely.

I retired a couple of years ago and moved to England and sadly I don’t miss my home city of Glasgow one bit. Still got my season ticket and get to as many games as possible though.

When you think about the clubs who we once considered to be friends and who subsequently let us down in our hour of greatest need.
There is not a single club in the SPFL who I would give any support to and in fact I live for the day when they all go to the wall,starting with the scum who are Dundee United.
Our Club and Support will continue to grow stronger because we are united by ties of friends ,family, community , faith and above all the constant link to Absent Friends.
These things combined are the reason we will never die.

Our education system , our legal system , policing and healthcare are in the shitter , they were once the envy of the world , we used to produce great players , but standards have dropped of a cliff , and so long as hammer throwers are allowed to brutalize our players with impunity , Scotland will be on the outside looking in , our politicians are fixated on one issue and could not give a flying feck about the greater good , hell mend them all .

I blame Tony Blair and the Labour Party they systematically destroyed this country and anything that it stood for. The SNP are pure and utter scum.
 
Scotland is now a divided country consumed by hatred since the independence referendum. The SNP now have the republican vote. Their constant grievance mongering is what appeals to the gullible "freedom fighters". People with nothing to lose who blame everyone else especially the English for their failure to succeed in life. For now the good hard working people hold the majority. Rangers are the flag bearers for the Unionist vote. The equivalent of the Tory party and that's why we are hated by those who have nothing.

Without the propoganda and constant negative rhetoric spewed out by the same cretins who have talked our game into hating itself for years we would have a chance. Until we are rid of this daily media bias we will remain the enemy free for all to attack. And conciously I dont say this much as the more you say things the more it happens which is 100% whats happening now.
