Rangers demand compensation from Dundee

We used to stay in a hotel the night before home league games. Not sure when it stopped before the banter years
It was the Mcleish years we used to stay there before European games the new signings used to stay there until they got a house aswell

RANGERS have demanded a five-figure compensation sum from Dundee over the two postponements at rain-hit Dens Park.

SunSport can reveal Gers want reimbursed for the cost of their two pre-match stays in St Andrews — as well as their travel expenses.

Sky Sports have already won their compensation fight after incurring costs in excess of £30,000 for two aborted broadcasts in March and April.

Now Gers have taken moves to recoup their expenses from Dee managing director John Nelms.

Dundee have already been fined £150,000 — with £120,000 of the figure suspended — after breaching Hampden rules on the condition of their playing surface.

They were also ordered to fork out £36,429.60 “as compensation to the SPFL for television and pitch specialist costs

Now Dens chiefs have been hit with a similar bill from top-six rivals Gers as the pitch feud continues to rumble on.

Ironically, the Dark Blues revealed this week they plan to spend a six-figure sum improving the troubled surface.

They have already raided city neighbours Dundee United for a new groundsman, and will now undertake significant work after their final home game of the season against Killie on May 18.

It’s understood the new Dundee investment on the surface is larger than the £186,000 fine.

Dee boss Tony Docherty said: “We want the best surface we can have, and it’s great to hear the level of investment the club are putting in to make sure it will be the case.”

Dundee admitted five breaches of SPFL rules at a disciplinary hearing on April 18

Tayside Fire Brigade fired a cheeky online dig at their Premiership neighbours as they kicked-off at Riverside Park on April 10.

The Dee are now set to apply for planning permission to build a new training complex and pitches on that site - as well as invest in the current surface at the Scotfoam Stadium.

Long-term the club is aiming to relocate to a new purpose-built ground at Camperdown.
Those bstrds had no intention of playing the first match. They didn't even have enough players.

Fs. Where do you start with all these cnuts breaking their neck to stick up for Dundee and have a go at Rangers?
Give us fucking peace and go and support someone else
It’s not sticking up for Dundee it’s having an opinion, I’d think it would be better to compensate the thousands of fans who spent loads of their cash travelling back and forth with the late calls offs and being fucked about by Dundee and the SPL. The fans are the ones out of pocket with this shit all the time and never get mentioned or recompensed.

It should the SPL we go after, they decide if the game goes ahead, it’s their refs, they have no rules for the continued call offs, they have zero contingencies plans and no standards for pitches or stadiums in our supposed top league. this is another opportunity to go after them and highlight the total incompetence. Surely you can see my point !?

Aye.
The thread is about Rangers seeking compensation from Dundee which you haven't agreed with and sided with Dundee.
Rangers fans love sticking the boot in to our club.

Any compensation claim for Rangers' costs should have been made by the SPFL board, on behalf of their member club. But obviously Doncaster is too busy to invoke that.

The negligence of the SPFL in failing to enforce their own rules. Are you saying SPFL rules override the law of the land?

Contributory negligence causing damages.
So are we suing Dundee or the SPFL? Who has a legal duty of care for rangers or the fans that has been breached?

Why dont supporters groups do that then?

If Sky can’t get their extra costs paid why shouldn’t Rangers too

Supporters have been shafted too and they should be getting reimbursed costs too

Dundee are scum and I don’t trust that cuunt Nelms

He’s far too close to Lieswell and let’s not forget wee Strapon too being involved with both clubs

The pitch debacle was far too coincidental
Totally agree.

You asked the legal basis to sue the SPFL. Thats what I answered.
The crux is negligence causing damages whomever is sued.
