Good shoutremember going to Sampdorias stadium for Italia 90 and thinking it was really similar to Ibrox.
Another decent shoutParken in Copenhagen if the seats were blue.
They did, Archibald Leitch. Great film about him on RTVGoodish and Villa Park. Must've had the same architect.
The front tier seating could be moved around to suit different events and capacities and remember from being there in '91Parken in Copenhagen if the seats were blue.
Roker Park alsoGoodish and Villa Park. Must've had the same architect.
Cary Grant designed a lot of the Stadium in the UKGoodish and Villa Park. Must've had the same architect.
And the original piggery but I like to think it was a half arsed design, drawn on the back of a fag packet.Roker Park also
That was Archibald Leitch? And the original piggery but I like to think it was a half arsed design, drawn on the back of a fag packet.
I have it on good authority Archie was blootered at the time. And the original piggery but I like to think it was a half arsed design, drawn on the back of a fag packet.
Cracking staduim that.Parken in Copenhagen if the seats were blue.
Yep, the original main stand front. It looked shit though, as you would expect. That was Archibald Leitch?
Looked like a jail. He knew what be was doingAnd the original piggery but I like to think it was a half arsed design, drawn on the back of a fag packet.
It certainly was never any match for Ibrox but the frontage they built to replace their original Leitch main stand is much much uglier. It's just naff looking at it.Yep, the original main stand front. It looked shit though, as you would expect.
That also reminds me in a way of my old school, Hillhead High!It doesn't look that similar overall but parts of Villa Park have that similar old red-brick style to our main stand.
Aye Archibald Leitch designed both stadiums.Goodish and Villa Park. Must've had the same architect.
Why were they allowed to knock that down? Wasn't it listed? It doesn't look that similar overall but parts of Villa Park have that similar old red-brick style to our main stand.
I'm pretty certain that it has been confirmed that the Cairo Museum heavily influenced Archibald Leitch's Ibrox Stadium design.McDiarmid Park was often referred to as a "Mini Ibrox" when it was built.
The rebuilt Ibrox was based on Dortmund's stadium in the 70s, but they've expanded there's and changed it since then.
The main stand front is amazingly similar to the Cairo National Museum (look it up!)
That's always the one I think of too.remember going to Sampdorias stadium for Italia 90 and thinking it was really similar to Ibrox.
From what I understand, auld Archie boy had fallen behind on the project because he was out on the swally.I'm pretty certain that it has been confirmed that the Cairo Museum heavily influenced Archibald Leitch's Ibrox Stadium design.
I don't think Ajax is similar at all.Copenhagen Ajax and Sunderland
Sunderland might not look like Ibrox but the view and way rows go back are similar to Copand/Broomland/Govan
Always thought that about McDiarmid when I was young, at least when the multicoloured seats were still at Ibrox.McDiarmid Park was often referred to as a "Mini Ibrox" when it was built.

Like a Slough industrial park office built in the early 90'sIt certainly was never any match for Ibrox but the frontage they built to replace their original Leitch main stand is much much uglier. It's just naff looking at it.
I mean the view on to the pitch.I don't think Ajax is similar at all.
Amazing what happens when you put your active supporters group bang in the middle of the home end.Cracking staduim that.
Always generates a decent atmosphere too.
Looked like a jail. He knew what be was doing
The Den has got to be modelled on the Ibrox rebuild of 78-81

My first thought when I seen that was my old school aswell. Craigton PrimaryThat also reminds me in a way of my old school, Hillhead High!
