They know it and Celtic know it. We’d be a laughing stock.
That wouldn’t bother them one bit. Embarrassed by nothing offended by everything

Perfectly put. They simply cannot award Celtic a league title when we have a game in hand and the possibility of reducing the gap to 4 points with 6 games to play.

Its not even close to the situation down south either.
In which case we take them to court. No leg to stand on.Forget the rules they'll just make new ones up as they go along
heu

The Scottish sun today reported -
However, in extreme cases such as this one, Article 99 of the SPFL constitution says the board DOES have it in their power to make decisions such as awarding the title IF it is deemed to be in the best interests of the company.
Having looked at article 99 –
Rules and regulations | SPFL

That's incorrect
I couldn't copy and paste the text and don't know how to post a screenshot.
They can change the rules , but there's no mention of awarding the title.
The article has voiding as the 4th option, which in my view , is the only sensible option.
If you try and play into the summer, players are out of contract, and clubs might not be able to fulfill fixtures, or clubs can sign new players - how would that be fair if the team is upgraded to play the last part of the season.
The only fair option is to void the league , start afresh after the summer.
How can the Scottish Sun get away with misdirecting the public ?
Their problem is,They'll award to the Tims, you know I know it, everybody knows it.
So what is the points threshold for being handed a title that's not been won?The stupid amount of points we've thrown away since the New Year will make it easier for the SPFL on this issue. A 5 or 6 points gap and there would be no talk whatsoever of handing that mob the League title.
The rules do say this. Potentially. The season runs from the first league game until the last league game, or as otherwise determined by the Board. Rule C38 says whoever is in first place at the end of the season is the Champion. A season is to be 38 games, excluding any postponed or abandoned games.Only if the rules state this.
This needs rubbed in their faces at every opportunityExactly. Remember Liewell's reaction in 2008? Calling the league's integrity into question by extending it a week. We lost a league and a decent chance at a European trophy because of that. What goes around comes around I'm afraid.

Rule C38 says whoever is in first place at the end of the season is the Champion. A season is to be 38 games, excluding any postponed or abandoned games.
Therefore the Board could postpone the remaining games, say the season has ended (or that it ends on May 16 irrespective of how many games get played by then) and Celtic would be crowned Champions. And they can say it’s all in the rules. Because it is.
Or, they could say this particular eventuality is not accounted for in the rules and the Board has the power under the rules to make such determinations as it sees fit to cover it off.
And for those saying if they extend the season we shouldn’t play - that’s against the rules so we would get penalised for that.
Can you point me to Where it says or as otherwise determined by the board ? I can’t see that .The rules do say this. Potentially. Who is they?Their problem is,
They want to crown Celtic but don't want to relegate Hearts.
Can't happen.
Null and void is the answer - the only answer!

The Herald/Ev Tims site pays £400 bonus to journalists who can get 1m clicks per article. Hence why the headlines are clickbait about Rangers, Celtic, Sectarianism etc.Sorry mate wasn't having a dig at you personally, starve the Bastards of The Blue Pound.
On the same note; every time you click on that electronic shit paper they make so much a click from their advertisers. The Daily Mail make a fortune from clicks adding up.

Rangers need to say feck all for now to the media. On this one dignified silence is 100% correct.
The yahoos are doing a grand job of looking crass wankers trying to claim unearned titles. Leave them to it.
When the time comes the club needs to be ready to act. Nothing wrong with telling the SPFL privately that they will fight it all the way.
The only question anyone on our board needs to ask is "would the yahoos hand us the title if the roles were reversed?".
%^*& that, sporting integrity.Play the League to it's conclusion. Even if it goes into July / August or later. Make next season a shortened season. At least clubs and fans would know it's a short season from the outset.
What you can't do is award titles and relegate clubs. Especially treating one club different from the rest.

Not at all. This is what is going to happen.
At the start of the rules there are a list of definitions. “Season” is a defined term. The “or as otherwise determined” wording is in there. Can you point me to Where it says or as otherwise determined by the board ? I can’t see that .

You can only declare a season finished when ALL league positions are decided. The bottom line is, when the season was suspended no one had clinched the title and no one had been condemned to relegation.
If the season cannot be completed, then it is void. You cannot award a title that hasn't been earned or impose relegation when it isn't deserved.
If Celtic are good enough to win the title next season and Hearts not good enough to stay up, then fine. But those things can and must only occur upon the completion of a league season.
No, I’m reading the SPFL rule book. You might want to try it before you slag people off. How dare we arm ourselves with facts when we can just howl at the moon eh?Poster W78 seems to be reading the Peter Lawwell rule book.
The players union will now allow games to go ahead behind closed doors.in all likelihood, if there is to be a winner of the premiership the remaining games will need to be played as I can’t see the spfl being content to award Raith Rovers the league
will the remaining games be played behind closed doors - who knows but seems unlikely
Doing my best. Tiring though;-) keep trying lmao

Their members are more at risk of the virus being transmitted player to player than from anyone in the crowd.
Fair enough that adds a whole new dimension to the debateAt the start of the rules there are a list of definitions. “Season” is a defined term. The “or as otherwise determined” wording is in there.
