Bury FC phoenix club

Another Tuesday, another away game at another Wythenshawe team

It has finished 1 - 1 tonight
Wythenshawe had a player sent off in the first half
Bury took the lead
But a very late dubious penalty gave them an equaliser

There is a live stream today for this afternoons game

The link to the payment Live Stream is here:

https://buryfc.co.uk/live-streams/bury-fc-vs-longridge-town-9th-sept/

Couple of things: Once you pay, keep the page open to retain access. If you have a problem or lose that page, the link to re-access the game is in your email receipt (check spam as that's where mine went this morning when i re-tested it).

Season ticket holders should receive an email around 2pm with their free access link. any problems, email media@buryfc.co.uk and I will be on the end of the emails to deal with as many queries as I can (but I would hope these will be less based on our improvement from last time).

Live Stream available today due to men's international football being played and the break in EPL / EFL fixtures this weekend.

Moving on to the weekend, a home game against Longridge Town
Hoping for a good crowd and a good result

Got off to the worst possible start as Longridge scored in the first minute and to be fair to them they could have had a few more.
We struggled to get any passing going but Benito Lowe grabbed an equaliser
And then the game fizzled out
1 - 1 final score

CLUB STATEMENT
Following a North West Counties Football League Management Committee meeting held on 6th September 2023, we have been notified of the League’s intention to fine the club £100 and deduct three points for fielding a player contracted to another club.

The club disputes this and is in the process of appealing to the Football Association. No sanctions will take effect until the appeal has been heard.

We know supporters will be severely disappointed to learn that we might lose hard earned points, as is Andy Welsh and his team. We would, however, ask for your patience as we go through the appeals process and will not be sharing any further information at this stage so as not to compromise that appeal.

In addition to the appeal, the club has now also made some process changes to mitigate against this risk in future. The volunteer involved in the transfer is no longer working with the club, and there is no evidence he knew of a problem. Neither the player nor any of the management team were aware of any concerns, and we would not play anyone where there was any known problem. There is nothing to be gained by blaming individuals given the specifics of this case.

The points deduction does not alter any of the results achieved to date. They all stand. There are 105 points up for grabs in our league campaign now. The focus is on continuing with our preparations and winning as many of those points as possible until the end of the season.

This is not the only dilemma currently occurring
There is the madness of a total civil war with the 'stadium company' banning current volunteers, disrupting the football team, petty things like removing the tv screen and mirrors from the dressing room, delaying access to the stadium in their attempt to bring the club down and singling out the manager and players because they are Bury AFC prior to this season where they are now Bury FC. The singleminded hatred is almost unbelievable. This stadium group are bankrupt both morally and actual.
It all needs sorting out rapidly

Only one football team, the Bury AFC renamed as Bury FC.

the original Bury FC is still in administration but has been renamed CCFB Realisations.
Bury FC 2023 is the Bury AFC renamed as Bury FC

When Original Bury FC was expelled from the English Football League, the Bury Chairman steve dale did not relinquish his 93% shares.
As he got the club expelled, he could not enter any team in any league

The Bury FC Supporters Society held a meeting where the options for the way forward was agreed, and the only successful outcome was that the Bury FC fans formed the football team to meet the FA deadline date of January 2020, Bury AFC was formed (Bury Football Club 2019) needed to groundshare at Radcliffe.
The Bury FC Supporters Society then reneged on this agreement as they wanted to start their own new club.

In 2022 when Original Bury was put in administration, an USA Bury born business man pledged to match fund for the government levelling up fund of £1M, using Bury FC Supporters Society as the community benefit society to gain access to these funds. Gigg Lane was bought out of administration and they changed the club name from Bury FC to CCFB Realisations.
This group attempted to form a new football club called Bury Community United by obtaining a veterans football team from Radcliffe. Their attempt to form the new club was rejected by the leagues and FA.

So there was a football team needing a home and a football ground needing a team
What could be simpler
But now there are some who have control of the stadium desperately trying to destroy the football team
And the conflict is in full view now

It needs sorting rapidly

The next game is on Saturday away at Lower Breck, in Liverpool

A 2 - 1 defeat today

Not really alarming and not that surprising really. Fell away badly last season with promotion in sight (fixture pile up didn't help mind). Needed a strong start to the season and it hasn't happened. Moving back to Gigg Lane it seems that quick progression through the leagues is seen as essential now and maybe it's seen that Welsh has taken the job as far as he can, so time for the next step in management to help the club make the next step up.

They've only just moved to Radcliffe but Johnson and Morley (the duo who managed Salford for a few years) are good candidates I reckon and they're bound to jump at it if offered the job given they're local fellas with excellent pedigree. Interesting to see what the next move will be.

After 11 games in 2nd place
May have had more points but for some disappointing late goals
But with serious off pitch goings on with a minority group trying ( and looks like succeeding) to destabilise the club at every turn it is alarming

Explain the comments about the efforts to destabilise the club? What do you mean?
And they're 5th now, not 2nd. Albeit only a few points in it really especially at this stage.

Update from the Football Supporters' Society of Bury Secretary

Following the receipt of an online petition from a group of members and non-members called ‘Action For Bury FC ,’ the board of the Football Supporters’ Society of Bury have convened a Special General Meeting to be held on Tuesday 10th October 2023 at The Elizabethan Suite, Town Hall, Knowsley St, Bury BL9 0SW at 7.30 - 8.30 pm.

The application was submitted by 8% of the total membership which exceeds the 5% threshold required to call for a Special General Meeting.

The purpose of this Special General Meeting is to answer questions raised by the applicant and these questions are set out in the notice of the meeting.

Given the specific nature of the application, no business other than that stated in the notice of the meeting shall be conducted at the meeting.

This is a members only meeting so checks will be in place on entry. The Elizabethan Suite holds up 250 people. Doors will be open from 7pm and the event will be ticketed with details to follow. It is expected to take an hour. We will explore the opportunity to stream the meeting for those who can’t attend and will advise further on this.

Prior to the meeting, the board will release a statement responding to each question posed by the applicant.

The format of the meeting will be that a panel of the Football Supporters’ Society of Bury board members will be present to take questions relating specifically to that statement and any points of clarification required. Questions will be routed through myself to ensure they comply with the stated business of the Special General Meeting.

Minutes will be made available following the meeting for those who are unable to attend. The Calling Notice is here.

Further madness and also a lack of understanding in an attempt to undermine the set up and delay the new CBS Board elections

The original Bury FC is still in administration but called CCFB Realisations, as you know.

Then there is the Benefactors Ltd who aquired Gigg Lane out of administration, with the political connections to get £1M government levelling up funding, who now have reneged on paying the match funding of the government, but claimed they had saved Bury FC.

They have control of the stadium operations, which is the group that celebrated and danced and let off fireworks when they prevented the merger of the two CBS at the first vote and wanted to set up their own new football team, called Bury Community United FC by using an aquired Radcliffe Veterans football team, and wrecked the pitch with mismanagement. On realising they were blowing the funding, and they have never released their accounts since February, facing bankruptcy then needed the merger to happen, but want to discredit everything to do with Bury AFC.

Then there is Bury FC 2019, now known as Bury FC, formerly Bury AFC and is still 100% fan ownership.

A veil of secrecy covers the goings on but there is clearly a power struggle, and i have no information about what is happening

We will see how it all pans out now
If everyone pulled in the same direction it would be really special. But some are so entrenched in their mindsets it will rumble on too long.

Keeping you informed

Keeping you informed

And there's more

And there's more

And there's the factual below

Structure of the organisation – How we arrived at the current position
I have previously given an update on where we are with the structure of the organisation and the relationship with the benefactors, but with more questions and so much misinformation in circulation I have prepared this more detailed note which summarises how we have arrived at the current position.
As secretary of the Football Supporters’ Society of Bury (FSSB) I have no vote, my role is to record discussions and decisions made and where appropriate share these with members.
My role is primarily to protect the members’ interests and if, as Secretary, I believe the society is not acting in the best interests of its members then I must remedy the situation.
As a result, these notes are intended to be a factual record of events, rather than a statement of opinion. External advice has been sought and received all the way through this process, and I will refer to this where relevant.
In summary:
  • The current ownership structure was agreed by all seven of the board members present. There were no objections and one person was absent due to holiday.
  • We have acted in accordance with the external advice we sought from both our lawyers and the FSA. The facts were supported by other impartial individuals involved in discussions, including the Investment Director at Greater Manchester Combined Authority.
  • Opportunities to discuss or comment on our previous communications have been offered to the benefactors.
  • There is no reason the structure cannot change once the promised funds are committed, it just needs member approval.
  • The contents of this report have all been agreed as accurate by the board of FSSB.
