Non Rangers 2022 Summer Transfer Thread

Can't see him leaving Barca. On £350k a week there, playing Champions League. Why would you swap that for Man Utd.

I can see why Barca would want to sell right enough.

Think it's more a case of Barca trying to force him out, to get some much needed money to allow them to complete deals like the Kessie & Christensen deals that theyve already agreed.

They'll probably gently persuade him it's for the best like they did Arthur.

There was something dodgy about the Arthur transfer. Wasn't it a swap plus money for Pjanic. Made no sense at all.

Aye, it was purely for accountancy terms. Both players used as pawns really. It was something ridiculous like Juve bought Arthur for €70M but sold Pjanic for €60M. Think they can put a sale on the books straight away but amorotize purchases or something like that.

Should really rename this the "Non Rangers 2022 Summer Transfer Thread - brought to you by Fabrizio Romano"

Gattuso to Valencia as manager
Lacazette finalising Lyon deal
Real Madrid confirm Rudiger
Leeds agreeing fee with RB Salzburg for Rasmus Kristensen

Just seeing Bayer Leverkusen have signed that boy Hlozek from Sparta Prague for circa £10M. I know that kind of money is still out of our budget, but Leverkusen run a player trading model that I hope we are on the road to emulating. Seasonally buying talent - not always on the cheap - and demonstrating a track record of moving top players on for big bucks.

Apparently Lewandowski is mulling over an "Andy Webster" style move to Barcelona via article 17 of their rules and regulations on transfers. Pays up the remainder of his contract (1 year) to the club (about 23 million) and goes on a free transfer.

Barcelona can't afford to buy him from Bayern, Bayern Munich don't want to sell him and he wants to go to Barcelona.

I did wonder when this style of move would come up again. Most clubs have tried everything to avoid these types of move as it would be like throwing a hand grenade into how the transfer market operates.

Interesting. As you say its strange that this has never came up again since.

Surely Lewandowski yearly salary isn't 23m?

Madness. Didn't think Bayern handed out contracts as large as that.
Even crazier is that Barcelona's current obligations, after almost eliminating all of their 'high earners' (Coutinho, Griezmann, Dembele, Rakitic, Vidal, Arthur, Suarez & Messi), is still double that of Bayern Munich.

And that's considering Bayern have at least 6 players earning above 275,000 a week (Lewandowski, Neuer, Muller, Kimmich, Sane, Goretzka) and at least another 9-10 that are above 100,000 a week.

Crazy, crazy stuff.

Hearts linked with a return signing of Callum Paterson.

Only 27 and has gained a lot of experience down south with Cardiff and Wednesday.

Versatile player. Would be a good signing for them on a free.
Would be a good signing for them to bring him back, wonder where they’d play him :D

Thought he was in his thirties. Been around forever. Good player and a great signing for hearts if they complete the deal

No way he's only 27  honestly thought he was mid 30s

Lawwell junior just moved from there. Wouldn’t surprise if a few deals follow.
They’ve basically been part of the city group for ages, to be fair. Somewhat surprising that Jr must be competent at something to get a job directly at City.

Strangely, Gio is connected to them as well and I think that’s how we got Sands.

Baffled that mane is rumoured to be leaving for bayern of all clubs. Wonder where Bale will end up.
Surely clubs will be wary of Bale after all his nonsense with Madrid. It’s all very well having priorities but the open disrespect to his employers and the fact he basically treated them as a means to stay fit for Wales games is a massive warning. He’ll down tools a month out from the World Cup in order to avoid injury. His attitude on loan at Spurs was even more telling. Who’s gonna want that and the attendant circus?
