RTV? Completed it mate!
It’s less than a month since either Robertson or Bisgrove (can’t remember which) said it would be open by the end of the year. Yet the assembled masses on FF can look at a photo and tell us ‘no chance’.

The plan for it to be a venue was so it could be used, and provide money, all year round.maybe they should scrape the gigs side of things and have it just a club shop, museum ( of decent size )and a fanszone with bars ect
Did they not say it would be open for summer 2022?
I seem to recall the club stating the cost of construction was to be met by the proceeds from the sale of roughly half the Albion Car Park, which was then to be developed into flats. Apologies if I've missed an announcement to the effect this has fallen through, but we seem to have moved on from this to seeking funds for completion without any explanation from the Board. Like others I'm also concerned the building appears rather small given the stated facilities, but will reserve judgement until completion.Construction only due to restart, still looking at being done by the end of the year.
Been the plan for it since before the AGM.
Additional funding only signed off from the directors in May and was around March/April the other chunk of cash was wined and dined from the corporate bears.
I think you deliberately miss the point people are making. No even a good steel frame.
Robertson out.
If you look above that post bud, it was me that initially mentioned the size in this thread.I think you deliberately miss the point people are making.
No one is commenting on what the finished article will look like.
The point is the size of it.
You happy with progress? There’s nothing but a steel frame, nowhere near the finished product and folk are slaughtering it already
Vintage FF
Its about 4 times the size of the main stand in the pic.It looked too small in the plans, and it certainly looks to be far too small in that pic.
I don’t think this is going to be anything like what we hoped it would be.
Be fruit scraping the floor judging from where the ceilings are going to be in that picture. If you look above that post bud, it was me that initially mentioned the size in this thread.
That was just low hanging fruit.
New Edmiston House is supposed to have a Museum, bigger club shop, and an entertainment venue big enough to seat 1,000.
From the size, it's going to be fucking tiny.
Museum isn't going to be the grand thing we all think, it's going to be glorified trophy room.
What’s a statement going to change?Would it be that hard for Roberston or Bisgrove to issue a statement, clarifying progress and the timeline to completion ? If it is too hard then they should be gone.
One of the two I mentioned said at the 150th Reception at the Scottish Office it would open by the end of the year. That was only a few short weeks ago. Bisgrove, I think. Interview will be on RangersTV somewhere. If that was the forecast then, I doubt it will have changed much since.Did they not say it would be open for summer 2022?
See post #70.Would it be that hard for Roberston or Bisgrove to issue a statement, clarifying progress and the timeline to completion ? If it is too hard then they should be gone.
Google is your friendYeah, was then scaled back to 1,000 but there's others now saying it's actually 750.
Which even that looks at push from the scale of the place.
It still needs to fit a museum and new club shop as well as a fanzone.
Cost of purchasing the land and initial works was covered by the sale.I seem to recall the club stating the cost of construction was to be met by the proceeds from the sale of roughly half the Albion Car Park, which was then to be developed into flats. It’s 1300 standing capacity. Good market in Glasgow for that size.No one has ever said that.
It’s a gig venue for up to 1000. 1000 standing is a lot less space.
The plans are freely available for it.
Unfortunately I think you are right and they have fucked it.It's going to be pish isn't it?
Its not unusual for projects like this to take pauses or delays. Not a great reputational look
That’s something you’d expect from a bowling club or junior club. Not the Europa finalists
I should add from the floor plans I seen, I said at the time on here the bar area didn’t look that big and I could see it being an issue when full on match day for getting served.
Rest of it though seemed as expected unless it’s since been scaled back

What you talking about? No laps of honour here, I stated that it all looked a bit tight on the plans that are freely available through Glasgow City planning portal. 1/3rd of the bottom floor is given over to dressing rooms, kitchens and bar, a small portion to part of the retail shop, the remainder is stage and open zone for the venue. Upstairs around 1/2 is remainder of shop and a cafe, then about 1/5 toilets and staff facilities , the remainder is the museum. My hopes was that it would maybe offer a bit more, especially with the museum,. Go on to planning and have a look and make your own mind up, I just think that when all the service spaces are taken into account it does not leave as much space as I hoped. How can you try and take a victory lap over this when the building isn’t even wind and watertight?!
I've worked in construction long enough to be able to look at that and know that when you start adding in all the utilities, safety regs, disability access etc.
That isn't really going to be very big when complete, unless they're going for the open warehouse type look.
It'll all be roomed off, or divided in such a way to make it feel bigger, but I can't see the museum, club shop that's supposed to be improved and house more focused stock, a fanzone type area as well as a thousand seat venue?
It's going to be small man.
Fits in no problem without anything movingThe only way I can see the planned capacity etc being reached, is if the museum club shop etc can all be essentially tucked away and the whole place becomes open plan.
But then that makes everything else that'll be in there seem a bit tacky imo.
I hope I'm wrong and the place is smashing.

For those questioning the size, if the planned size had changed since the original approval would we not be aware of that from the Planning Application process? I learned a long time ago that trying to judge the size of a building from a photograph was a bit daft as the angle of the shot can make said building look larger, or smaller, that the reality. Probably those who’ve actually seen it in the flesh are best placed to comment on that.

It was never to seat 1000 people, from memory I belive it was 600 and had a standing capacity for between 1000 and 1300, I think it will be perfect for the market they are aiming for, have you actually seen it real life, I pass it amost single day and it is anything but tinyNew Edmiston House is supposed to have a Museum, bigger club shop, and an entertainment venue big enough to seat 1,000.

Museum isn't going to be the grand thing we all think, it's going to be glorified trophy room.
But the same size as the original plan. If it had changed it would be in the planning documents. It looks small when you see the frame size in the flesh as well...
Yeah I saw how they propose to do it in the above video.Fits in no problem without anything moving
Not from that photo you can'tWe can see the size just now.

True, but not the point I was making. But the same size as the original plan. If it had changed it would be in the planning documents.

How long you worked in Construction and how many concert venues you been involved in?I've worked in construction long enough to be able to look at that and know that when you start adding in all the utilities, safety regs, disability access etc.

I’ll wait until it’s finished before I pass judgement.
I know that’s not the FF way though!
The drawings are there for people to see, I think it what the Club wants and pretty sure it could be expanded in the future if neededI have seen it in real life mate, it still looks quite small for everything that's promised.
