Probably is Motherwell as Norrie Martin looks like he wearing a Red Jersey. Rangers keepers didn’t have to change Jerseys much. The 1967 Cup Winners final line up.
Looks like Fir Park.

I think this might be my first game - Dunfermline, October 1968. (Dunfermline were Scottish Cup holders and reached ECWC semi-final that season).
It was a warm up game for NurembergProbably is Motherwell as Norrie Martin looks like he wearing a Red Jersey. Rangers keepers didn’t have to change Jerseys much.
Should have been Jim Forrest sitting in the front row.It was a warm up game for Nuremberg
Jardine playing Centre Forward scored our second goal that day (Persson got the first).I think this might be my first game - Dunfermline, October 1968. (Dunfermline were Scottish Cup holders and reached ECWC semi-final that season).
Who are our opponents @ItsInTheNet ? The game will have been between mid 1960 when Jim Baxter signed to February 1963 when Alex Scott left for Everton.
Ayr United I'm sure @The Meik's Crombie . Last game of the 1960/61 season. 7-3 victory to pip Kilmarnock for the title.Who are our opponents @ItsInTheNet ? The game will have been between mid 1960 when Jim Baxter signed to February 1963 when Alex Scott left for Everton.
Nigel Winterburn testimonial I think
Poise and balance personified.
I think the Dunfermline defender on the right is a Callaghan?
I think it was Willie, the unmistakable face of a Callaghan.I think the Dunfermline defender on the right is a Callaghan?
Jim, brother of Tommy who went to the yahoos I'm sure.
I knew there were two of them. Oh, and perish the thought of two Jim Callaghans at the same time.I think it was Willie, the unmistakable face of a Callaghan.
The Goalkeeper is Bent Martin who also came from the Filth.
I was going to ask if that was the first league game at Ibrox under Souness v Dun Utd. Beautiful day, some wonderful play in the first half and two goals to the good and then it turned to mush.

But I doubt we wore those socks that season.
Roy Barry also in that picture to the right of SJI think it was Willie, the unmistakable face of a Callaghan.

Correct my man. The internet can be very misleading at times.I had always thought we were the first British side to tour there but Spurs were there on a three game tour in the summer of 1959 beating Torpedo Moscow and Dynamo Kiev before losing the third game to a CCCP select eleven 1-3.
Could it be the opening game of the season the year before?I was going to ask if that was the first league game at Ibrox under Souness v Dun Utd. Beautiful day, some wonderful play in the first half and two goals to the good and then it turned to mush.
But I doubt we wore those socks that season.
Johnny Hubbard was well before Bent Martin.I knew there were two of them. Oh, and perish the thought of two Jim Callaghans at the same time.
Bent Martin is he in folklore for saving a Johnny Hubbard penalty kick?
Willie Callaghan - full-back and Captain.I think the Dunfermline defender on the right is a Callaghan?
Jim, brother of Tommy who went to the yahoos I'm sure.
His brother Tommy who signed for the rattlers was a sleekit bastard with a coupon like the map of Ireland.Willie Callaghan - full-back and Captain.
I’m usually good at old football stadiums but struggling here.
Could be .My first thought was Tynecastle. Maybe someone could confirm.I’m usually good at old football stadiums but struggling here.
Somerset Park ?
I think you are right. John Greig had a cut injury to his chin from around the Sporting Lisbon tie in October 1971 and he did not shave the beard off until after Barcelona. Ball boy wearing a black / dark tracksuit which would also suggest it is Ayr. I remember the defeat at Tynecastle that year which was earlier in the season.I’m usually good at old football stadiums but struggling here.
Somerset Park ?
Some excellent detective work there TMCI think you are right. The game at Somerset was played on 27 November 1971, which fits with previous forensic examination. Some excellent detective work there TMC

Met Jimmy Caskie in the 70's, he owned a Hotel & pub on Scarborough's south bay called 'The Lancaster' Rangers crest proudly displayed on the wall. Total Gent and very proud to be a Ranger.
Was that the game that Willie Henderson scored with a looping cross from virtually the corner flag? The game at Somerset was played on 27 November 1971, which fits with previous forensic examination.
I'm sure he played in the St Johnstone side who papped the yahoos out of the SC at the cesspit before WW2. Nineteen Thirty-six I think.Met Jimmy Caskie in the 70's, he owned a Hotel & pub on Scarborough's south bay called 'The Lancaster' Rangers crest proudly displayed on the wall. I’ll need to check my Rangers Football Companion up in the loft! Was that the game that Willie Henderson scored with a looping cross from virtually the corner flag?
