Seemed to have a poor attitude. Cross for Alfie against Legia his best moment. Good for all parties for him to move on.
To be honest, I just think Gerrard didn’t feel he was good enough and the two situations were entirely different - especially when you consider Jones had already angered him months prior. He is a good player but things just didn't work out for him, if you look at the total number of minutes he actually played for us the number is very low, but I liked what I saw when he did play.
I thought the way him and Edmundson got treated after breaking covid rules was very unfair, especially when you considered the different treatment Paterson and Bassey got for doing almost the same thing.
It shows on the annual accounts so they can’t hide it . I don’t see the problem in saying what the fee is .Nothing to be gained from other teams or fans knowing how much we got for the player, or how much the buying club paid for the player.
It benefits both clubs, if they were wanting to go sign someone else then the selling club would know much money the clubs have lying about. It shows on the annual accounts so they can’t hide it . I don’t see the problem in saying what the fee is .
But some clown said we would be lucky to get £100k£400/£500k I would totally guess which between that and getting his wages off the bill I would be fine with
Barker is a better footballer than Jones, both technically and tactically.I'd still much rather have Jones in the squad than Barker - at least he seems like a footballer.
You know what your getting with Barker he had the mangers trust not to do something stupid Jones didn'tBarker is a better footballer than Jones, both technically and tactically.
I think Gerrard felt that too.
Will be plenty , but none accurate , £500k there heard it here first .Any rumours on what the fee is ?
Barker yes, but i would keep middleton.Hope we got a decent amount.
Hopefully Barker, Middleton next.
Etc? , theres not many more that could go imo.Good luck to him but I’m glad we’re rid.
A few more deadwood squad fillers to go now (Barker, Hastie, Middleton etc.)
Guy on here last week was proper raging because.
“We pay for the players so we are entitled to know how much they’ve sold for”
I would much rather we got rid of Jones, Hastie, Barker & replaced them with maybe 1 versatile player who could play either side. Would be cheaper wage wise too.Etc? , theres not many more that could go imo.
Hastie and barker, but i would keep middleton.
Look at the bench last night, very threadbare.I would much rather we got rid of Jones, Hastie, Barker & replaced them with maybe 1 versatile player who could play either side. Would be cheaper wage wise too.
Also think there’s the possibility of Simpson or Katic going on loan as 5 CBs when we play 433 doesn’t add up.
I'd still much rather have Jones in the squad than Barker - at least he seems like a footballer.
That threadbare Katic never even made the bench … We were missing Aribo, Roofe, Kamara, Morelos & Jack.Look at the bench last night, very threadbare.
I cannot see players going on loan unless its middleton , barker or hastie.
I also dont think we can buy till we sell.
I admire your optimism but I doubt even if the sell on clause was 100% that it would amount to a windfall for the club.Excellent.
I was originally hoping for £2.5m between him and Edmundson, but in all honesty I’d be happy with £500k and a sell on for Jones.
He has some attributes, but they don’t really suit us.
Will always have his two good European performances, so for that I hold no ill will towards him and hope he does well.
You could guess that, me higher and the next poster lower.£400/£500k I would totally guess which between that and getting his wages off the bill I would be fine with
Do these two not help with the UEFA quota rules?Good luck to him but I’m glad we’re rid.
A few more deadwood squad fillers to go now (Barker, Hastie, Middleton etc.)
Homegrown nation, yes.Do these two not help with the UEFA quota rules?
Does Middleton not class as club trained now, joined when he was 18 and is now 21.Homegrown nation, yes.
Club grown, no.
8 HGN & 4HGC required.
Barker is a better footballer than Jones, both technically and tactically.
I think Gerrard felt that too.
Undisclosed so £13.5m then!Hopefully we have got £1m for him
Possibly, I think it’s 3 years trained from 15th-21st birthday.Does Middleton not class as club trained now, joined when he was 18 and is now 21.
Then again, the wording is fairly ambiguous.
Undisclosed feemate.Ithink that means £13mHopefully we have got £1m for him
