Nnamdi Ofoborh

He’s not left, the club have allowed him to go home and be with his family while he can’t play. He is at the RTC once or twice a week, Beale confirmed this back in March when the instagram post were posted.
We are now in June. He's not been back.

Another in a long line of absolute shit shows from our medical dept. These types of signings just never seem to happen at Celtic yet we constantly get guys who hardly ever play.
You seriously don’t think our medical department do the full medical do you ?

Does she do any other dance moves?

I’ll get my coat
You'd be amazed (no pics).

But honestly the alarming regularity this exact post appears is horrendous. I've seen him called a shirker, a wage thief, a piss taker etc etc.

The guy came to us wanting to play. He probably wakes up every morning wanting to play.

A medical issue we discovered means he can't and probably won't.

Has this saved his life? Maybe.

Am I raging he's not on the pitch? No

Have we had players who didn't get stripped for games for far less worthy reasons? Hell yeah.

The mistake lay somewhere with this poor young chap, his previous clubs or last (was it Bournemouth) or our own medical staff. Either way thankfully he’s well but for him his career is probably over, wish him well and good health. Ppl worry about the expense and finances but he was signed as part of a plan and a position, it’s wasn’t a shot in the dark gamble, scouted to fit our needs through gerrard at the time and the loss for us is most likely on the field and planning, not just the money. Hard parallel (apologies for the easily offended) is the young lad for Cardiff who died in an airplane crash, surely his life is worth more than a clubs needs. We have fulfilled our obligations and I hope he goes on to good things. For all our injury woes and slagging of medical team this one they got right

He will never play for us , maybe our insurance covers wages / medical bills etc.
Its likely just as easy paying him till his contract runs out.

Looking at those two pictures I do feel for him, he’s hurting and been through a lot

Even if he’s only on about 5k a week it doesn’t cut it saying “5k a week to do nothing” (but ignoring you’re probably getting bloods and scans took weekly and playing waiting games)

That also said, if it’s a dig at us I’ve no idea what for - we’ve been nothing but supportive and fulfilled every single duty of care obligation
Genuinely not sure what the point of this post is. More flip flops than benidorm.

I’m sure beale said we had done all the right things and the player had no issue with the club? Or i may have imagined that? Around Jan time?

Heartbreaking for the boy. Growing up with your dream being playing football. Putting in the work, the effort, the training. Getting your big opportunity and then this happening. As well as not knowing what your career or future holds you also worry you have a ticking time bomb that could end your life any minute. I’m sure his medical issues are outwith the expertise of anything that the club can offer but I hope we’re helping him mentally.

Feel for the kid, giving the sheer amount of time that has passed and the number of specialists seen I would be very very surprised if the boy ever plays pro football again never mind for Rangers.

The people stating to "Get rid" is out of order. We are better than that, we have standards at this club! And let's have it right the boy signed a contract after passing a medical so not only do we have a duty of care we also have a legal binding contractual agreement with the player.

Listen this man’s health is more important than anything else, yes I know he hasn’t played a game. But the young man needs help and our club is providing that for him. I just hope that he goes on to live a healthy life as I can’t see him playing football again, in a professional capacity.

To those suggesting we just pay up his deal, do you realise what sort of message that sends?

We’ve just communicated that we’re going to support Steven Davis’ rehab, which is the right thing to do. Why would we wash our hands of someone who is under contract? Other players, especially those with reservations around specific injuries they might have had would see that as a massive red flag if we tried to sign them.

Then there’s the human element. When someone is at their lowest point, they need a support structure and people around then, not sent a letter from their employer saying their final payment will be with them soon and not to return to the training ground.

Too many people think it’s like football manager with a wee drop-down to ‘release’ and that’s it. We signed the player, and in the business we’re in we accept that risk that we’re employing athletes.

How is it a shit show ? We spotted the problem didn't we ?

The guy is ill. Have a bit of fúcking compassion.
Should have spotted it before he signed on the dotted line.

May sound harsh and I wish the lad all the best. But it is something we should be picking up on before committing to a 4 year deal.

He's probably read the mountain of shite that gets posted online which refers to him as a wage thief, a waste of space, a chancer and so on. Probably why he feels like he's been 'made to feel like the bad guy'. You see comments on his social media that are utterly woeful and lacking in any shred of compassion from guys with Rangers related profile pics or user handles, supposed fans of the club. That's just the ones I can see under his public posts, christ knows what his DMs were/are like. He might also be the type of person who reads about himself online, meaning he potentially stumbles upon threads like these. We don't know.

I don't understand how many times it needs explained that he has a serious health issue, but every other month here we see a thread about him and then the same pile on ensues. It's embarrassing. He might never play for us, or he might miraculously manage to put the hell he's been through behind him and pull off a remarkable comeback. He might end up leaving us unable to kick a ball again in earnest, staring down the barrel of having he's dreams being ripped away from him. He might end up leaving and playing somewhere else. Our issues with him not playing, pale in comparison to the struggles he's gone through. Either way, I hope the club continues to support him and even if the worst case scenario happens, we help him find a career either within football or in another field of work entirely. The club has a duty of care.

Probably won't ever kick a ball again. Shame for the boy, but, he should be grateful for the free wage and health care we have provided. Even fit, I never really had high hopes. Shot in the dark, and Jack Simpson was the good one.

Unless you have inside knowledge of the boy's condition, if and when it was detectable, you're talking unadulterated pish.
I assume the latter, given the levels of ignorance being displayed on this thread!

On what basis would he accept a pay off? There’s absolutely no benefit to him in doing so.
You can only ask? There might be some benefit to him going to try and look to what he can do after football rather than being in limbo like he currently appears to be.

“Here’s the deal Nnamdi…you face an uncertain future. How about we give you 80% of your salary in a lump sum and you leave now into this uncertainty? This gives you the benefit of losing 20% of your salary and not waiting a year. Deal?”

complete non starter.

2 years to wait apparently? Id imagine we would keep him on the medical pathway (for the remaining 2 years of his original contract) to allow him to get to the bottom of his health issues. After his contract is up our medical responsibility ends.

Some amount of crass and idiotic comments I here.

I would love to know exactly how people expect the club to spot this when plenty of other club haven’t been able for many other players. Inter with Eriksen, Brighton with Mwepu and Blind at Ajax just recently as example. I’ve said already in here but after passing our medical he passed Wycombe’s medical straight after it too with no issues spotted.

People yapping about the medical teams handling of case, they aren’t looking after his treatment etc as it’s a specialist cardiologist.

If he made a proper comment on his social media, which isnt hard, as opposed to some cryptic message that could be taken the wrong way. It would help people understand and be more adult like.

he's a young guy whose life has been turned upside down, what is there to understand and be adult about?
