Bury FC phoenix club

Just seen the team and noticed Jack in goal.
Wondered why he wasn't suspended after his red card on thursday.

It all makes sense now.
Not sure which Jack played
There may be a delay before the suspension begins, not sure
Will find out when we see some pics
But what a great win today
Lewis Gilboy rounded their keeper and rolled it in at the 88th minute i think
I am out in North Norfolk going to the Viking boat burning procession at Sheringham, but in a pub having fish and chips at the moment

Enjoy your Saturday night Graeme another late victory so still hanging in there, will we be seeing you on the Isle of Man?

Here are the game highlights

Big game tonight Graeme and I am just away to log in for the live stream.
H T
1 red card each
They are experts at gamesmanship....
They would fall over with cramp just watching the tv
A truly awful game due to the gamesmanship by VM

Still 0 - 0 but i hope we stuff them all the more now

10 a side for the second half

That's a hell of a collapse when comparing it to a few weeks ago.

What's the promotion situation?
Top two automatic?
Only the top team is automatic promotion
2nd place has a playoff against a team from the higher division

Top spot looks out of reach now, thin chance for 2nd but you never know until you know !!!

Yes it is disappointing how it is collapsing but the number of games they are playing each week is taking its toll
That said though, VM were top class at total gamesmanship, crowding the ref, getting player sent off, feigning injury, time wasting, imaginary cramp and they out muscled us

There is video footage of the Bury player being shoved over the goalkeeper by the VM defender and then being surrounded by 3 furious VM players for which the Bury player was sent off with a red card.
It should have been a penalty for Bury

The big difference is with Vauxhall Motors.
They lost a game at Winsford, but have managed to get that game deemed null and void due to Winsford not having paid a bill to their FA on time. So they now get to replay that fixture.
Then in the VM v Bury game they were given a 'hand of God' goal to win the game
And in the Bury v VM they conned the ref into sending off the Bury player instead of awarding Bury the penalty for the foul on the Bury player, and won the game
So they have taken 6 points from Bury and have the chance to gain 3 points from the Winsford replay that they had lost
That is football

Real shame how the last few weeks have gone.
Good cup runs and shitty weather seem to have cost any chance of promotion.
Today was careless
We had a 1 - 0 lead and in the 90th minute let them equalise
It is a real shame as it was still in our hands.
Now we need some other miracles
Fingers still crossed but ...

crap result today but we can still enjoy ourselves next Saturday. :shh:
Yes we can celebrate our wonderful season at the Isle of Man .
Looking forward to meeting up with you both again.
It will be a good mini break whatever
I have never been to the IoM before so it will be a new adventure

Commiserations with the GERS result today, very frustrating
But to lighten the night todays scores help Bury AFC

Unfortunately Vauxhall Motors won away at Winsford - the game they originally lost but manipulated todays replaying of the game as a bit of skulduggery occurred, Winsford had not made a payment to their FA so were suspended apparently, and the Chairman of that FA happens to be the President of VM, but the NWCL deemed the original game null and void.
If they had played an unregistered player Winsford would only have had a fine and maybe the points docked but not a replay.
Anyway VM got their bonus 3 points.

In todays other game a 93rd minute winner went to the Isle of Man against Avro

Back in Bury's control again now but we are away at 3rd placed Wythenshawe Town on Monday, an absolute must win game for Bury

Back in the race

Avro lost yesterday to a 93rd minute goal at the Isle of Man. The race is back on, admittedly difficult, but still in with the chance of 2nd place.
Monday is now a massive game for us away at 3rd place Wythenshawe Town

Played Points Team
39 88 Vauxhall Motors
40 83 Avro
39 81 Wythenshawe Town
37 76 BURY AFC

Mon 10th
VM v Liverpool
WT v Bury

Thur 13th
Bury v Burscough

Sat 15th
Avro v VM
IoM v Bury
Congleton v WT

Tue 18th
Barlick v Bury

Sat 22nd
Avro v Barlick
IoM v WT
WDC v VM
BURY v Winsford

Barlick is the name for Barnoldswick

Not again !!

Winning 2 - 3 in the 90th minute
But WT snatch a 93rd minute equaliser

Gutted, from a brilliant position

VM won so now have the title, will they bother at Avro, we must hope so

That sending off looked ridiculous. Was it a Scottish ref by any chance :))
It was a deception as their defender pushed the Bury player onto and over their goaly, and then the defenders charged in on the Bury player who had been shoved.
It should have been a penalty for Bury.
But that is how decisions have been going at our level

The red card was overturned for the Bury player on appeal yesterday.
Still a bitter taste as Vauxhall Motors won the game and are now League Champions as they won their replayed game with Winsford, which they had previously lost.

Anyway back to football, Bury play at home against Burscough tonight

I am setting off on my travels to be in the Isle of Man for our game on Saturday

One midweek game too many tonight

A 0 - 3 defeat to a Burscough team who played well

Onto the Isle of Man game on Saturday where we can celebrate our season, with over 700 travelling for Bury

Looked so promising right up until the FA Vase QF.
Weather.
Handball goals.
Dodgy red cards.
Games getting replayed.
Last minute equalisers.

Seems like if it could go wrong, it did.

Enjoy your weekend.

Great summary and it as more of the same on Saturday night in the 3 - 2 defeat at the I o M, but rather than being downbeat it turned out to be a celebration of our team
The 700 travelling Bury fans gave great support all of the game and the scenes at the end were funfilled as the fans got our goalie Jack Atkinson to come into the crowd and beat the drum
And personally it has been a superb sun filled weekend in a great resort, the football ground was very nice at our level and to top it all we met up with @jimmy5141 who got his picture with the team
So result aside, a great weekend

Next up Barnoldswick Town away

A fog has covered the Isle of Man today so many have had their flights cancelled including @jimmy5141 who was hoping to get back to Edinburgh today and now has to go via Manchester tomorrow
The Bury team also stranded, next game Tuesday !!!!!
Good luck to Jimmy to get back home

Last night Bury got back to winning ways at Barnoldswick Town with a 0 - 2 victory

I had travelled back from the Isle of Man on the ferry to Liverpool and just got to Barnoldswick Town FC in time for the kick off.
Just one game to go for the season now, on Saturday, a home game being played back In Radcliffe at the Nueven stadium against Winsford Utd.

Played Points Team
41 92 Vauxhall Motors .. Champions
41 84 Avro
41 83 Wythenshawe Town
41 80 BURY AFC

Automatic promotion for Vauxhall Motors

Single Playoff will be either Avro or Wythenshawe Town against a team from the higher division

Bury have given their all with a fine run in the FA Cup, losing to York City FC, and also reached the quarter finals of the FA Vase, losing on penalties to Congleton Town, and then with a back log of fixtures proved just to be too many games to complete in a short time period at the end
But we have had a good season and we will go again next season

Onto our last game on Saturday

Bury AFC v Winsford Utd

Heads should roll for that collapse, man.

Just a month or two ago AFC Bury must’ve been favourites to win it and now haven’t even made the play offs.

Must be bitterly disappointing for you guys.

Good luck next season.

It may appear as a steep collapse but in honesty we ended up with too many postponed games having to be crammed in.
You could see at the end the players were out on their feet - doing their day job then playing sat tues thurs sat tues thurs
The Vauxhall Motors games where we played them on consecutive tuesdays and they got the 6 points with their hand of God goal- an obvious slam dunk - and them getting our player sent off instead of us getting the penalty - was the turning point
It was a blow letting in last kick equalisers in the last few games, especially at Wythenshawe Town, and away at the IoM their goalkeeper was the man of the match

So it has been a valiant effort for our young club and it may not be as disappointing as first glance would make you think

Thanks for your continued interest
You GERS are simply the best, and it was brilliant to meet up with @jimmy5141 and his good wife on the IoM
Also hoping to meet @GazzaG soon
Also we are still indebted to @acousticblue forsetting up this thread and to the many great Rangers fans who have supported us
You are all amazing
Thanks
